Finally got a feral cat again! It's been a long time since I shot a cat but now that the grass is starting to get a bit shorter I might start finding them again. Watch as I shoot a cat and then have a big day af carting cattle to the works with a few dramas along the way.

Salut Josh, I've been away in the UK for a week and have just caught up. Watched this as the sun came up this morning, before breakfast. Left my electronic devices behind so am busily catching up. Your's was the first thing I clicked onto. Never disappoints. Thanks. Shame about the beast.

One of the harsh realities of life is that accidents happen and sometimes that means a life is wasted. People on the land like you know this all too well. This video brings back memories, both good and not so good, of my teenage years.

Cutting a large step (a block of thick timber) of the correct size, with notches in the correct place so it fit into the ramps posts or whatever to prevent it sliding diagonally when loading up (they'll get ingenious about getting it out of position) would be an option. Sometime 2 blocks of differing thickness for different height vehicles. Bottom one wider so steps are gradual, vertical pins could be used to keep in place. Although not so good for the freezer. For shifting them in the yards a white plastic bag on the end of a stick (or the prodder) waved and rustled at them is something to try. They are uncertain of the noise and the extension of "you".

Thanks for another great video combining two of my favourite things Josh. Fresh beef and a good cat. A pity about the mishap but it was good to see the young fella still up and about after his tumble. I hope that prod is solar or wind charged to offset the emissions from vegan voice boxes? I've been wondering if you can't use dogs to move stock what that shiny bulldog is doing on the bonnet of the Mack😂. Regards Mark from Redlands

Really enjoy your content---I was wondering if u could spend maybe a minute or so explaining why particular cattle go to market--example these heifers? just curious about how that all wors ( are "straight herefords heifers worth more for resale than slaughter?) anyway I love the channel--Thanks.
@intothenight1993
@intothenight1993 Ай бұрын
These heifers were all fat and heavy enough to grade at the meat works. So we sold them. They would have gone a fair while ago if they were still at our home block as the feed is much better for fattening cattle. But we needed the space here so had to shift them. That block would be better for breeding but it needs a lot of work to clean it up and referencing before we can put breeders there. And the dingos are a big problem down there for the baby calves. And in answer to your last question, no is the short answer. These are pure Herefords but they are not registered so a stud wouldn’t want to buy them. Whether or not they are worth more all depends on the market week to week. But most of the time we get more for them selling straight to the works. But we do have to hang onto them for longer to get fat enough.
