Chris and Chase Reeves react to Feral Girl Summer. What does it mean for women to reject a Hot Girl Summer? Why does Feral Girl Summer only last for one year? Is Megan Thee Stallion to blame for making girls believe they have to have a hot girl summer?

That might be the thot process here. Just more mind games, a trend that only exists in the online space because no one is actually doing it. Let's see what actually happens next.

I’m so glad you pointed out that it is WOMEN telling other women what the beauty standards are, not men. And it’s women telling other women what they are supposed to do with their bodies, career choices, and life choices. Of course there are some men trying to dictate what women should be doing, but women have been the loudest voice when it comes to telling women what they should be, how they should think, and how they should act. And with the pandemic of identity crisis running rife, and somewhat encouraged by social media, people are jumping on trends just to feel like they belong to a group, and take that group think as part of their identity, and what we are left with is people who are unable to be their authentic self because they don’t know who they are anymore. Great conversation.

Fast fashion and thigh gap is not the same as not shaving legs and armpits. As a straight male, female body hair is a sign of sexual maturity and is super attractive. I also generally find any amount of makeup fairly off-putting from an attractiveness perspective (though not a big deal). Nothing beats the natural adult human look. The idea that anyone should feel pressured at all into shaving or wearing makeup is abhorrent to me, though if someone genuinely wants to do that then more power to them. Also, the cleanliness/hygiene argument with regard to shaving is complete bullshit. While there's nothing wrong with personal preferences, I'm skeptical of men who find female body hair to be a dealbreaker, and I have little-to-no sympathy for such folks. Consider that shaving has only been a thing very recently on the timeline of our evolutionary history, and our ancestors for millions of years before that evidently had no trouble being attracted to one another and consequently mating to produce us.

men never told women to dress a certain way. women realized over time how they needed to act to get the most attention from men. shaving body hair, having smooth skin, and nowadays showing more skin when getting dressed up. basically a micro evolution of about 100 years or so has created the modern beauty standards. if you dont want the attention of men, and want to be alone, then by all means do what ever you want same way men realized to be attractive to women, being in shape and having money is needed. so men who understand modern dating market are actively doing this to have the most options.

@@HowTwo007 Microevolution has a definition, were you aware of that? You seem to be using it to mean 'gradual cultural changes over time'. If you want to make this strictly about culture, don't use terms that refer strictly to biology. If you're claiming this is a cultural phenomenon, then it can change, and there is no specific ontological end to these changes. This means that there is absolutely no reason - by your argument - that 'feral girl summer' couldn't be the beauty standard in a short time. It's all simply about responding to cultural cues. I'd agree with you, broadly speaking. Look at the different beauty standards around the world, and over time. C’mon… never in human history have women been asked to shave it all off below… that’s all due to the pornification of culture. Females get pubic hair at the same time males do-puberty. You don’t think it would be strange for a woman to ask you to shave off all your pubic hair to look like a little boy? And it’s proven scientifically that shaving pubic hair is not beneficial to health. That said, IMO it’s a fair trade to shave legs and armpits bc culturally it’s normalized as something women should do and Im glad most men shave their face. I’d hate it if beards became more common place! 😂 When you can see faces, you can read faces! And I think it’s sad that men who are hairy are feeling the pressure to shave their chest and back etc etc… why can’t we just be less superficial??? 🙌

I am a woman and I take exception to your implying that high-waisted jeans are masculine. In the 80s, high-waisted jeans for women were the rule and emphasized the sexiness of the derrière. I’ve also lived through the hip-hugger phase of the 70s, which only looked attractive on super thin girls, and the current low-cut jeans, which for some of us hit in all the wrong places. As for the rest of your comment, well I agree that female hairiness is not attractive, but I also find the current long and hairy beards men like to sport disgusting.

The high waisted jeans (which are on the way out of fashion) were just a moment in fashion. Just like anything else they weren't for everyone, There's 2 types of women: women that dress for men and women that dress for other women. Not sexually for other women but for the attention of other women. Some women aren't lesbians but prefer being complemented by women than men. If a woman wants a certain bag, she's not doing it for a man. Most men have no idea how much the bag cost and how difficult it was to get or what season and collection it belongs to. Other women that shares her interests will. A woman that dresses to attract men, doesn't need an expensive bag, or wardrobe, in fact some men will be intimidated by a woman wearing a bag that costs more than his car. That's the whole point someone wearing a custom made Hermes bag isn't doing it to sexually attract a man, she's doing it to cement status within other females. To some women a look of envy from another woman is more satisfying than a look of desire from a man. That's why i always say, the best wingman for a single guy is a woman that's well put together.

@@derekgeorgeandrews The reason that having your own career is encouraged in women is so that women don't have to be dependent on their husbands. There are plenty of cases where if a woman becomes terminally ill, her husband is 6x more likely to leave her. Let's not forget that there are men who leave their aging wife for a younger woman. What happens to the housewife who gave him children and raised them? She typically becomes incapable of supporting herself because she's been out of the working world for a long time. If she does receive alimony, their husband and other men think that she's a leech because men don't value women's work inside the home. They don't consider it real work so they don't think the money that the man earns is as much hers. There are just too many risks when it comes to being a stay-at-home wife that I personally don't think it's worth it. You can't place your life in the hands of a man who may or may not be a good husband to you in the long run. Some men might say, "Oh, it's her fault for not choosing wisely," but it's literally not a woman's fault if her husband cheats or becomes emotionally abusive or distant. I've let nature take it's course myself and now have a big beard and dreadlocks. I don't care about body hair at all, while it grows on my back , shoulders, upper arms, chest and stomach (I do trim my pubes a little with scissors when they get too long, as well as my finger and toe nails of course, but that's it). I've found that women are attracted to me no matter what I wear or how I groom because of my overall presence and laidback intensity. I used to groom my body hair and have had many hair styles on my head and face. Since I've gone natural I've found that actually more women are attracted to me from across the spectrum, whereas before it was mostly mainstream women. @Jane B Robbins Put two female twins, side by side. Both have on a skimpy two piece, preparing for a day at the beach. One is smooth shaven, including her kitty cat. The other, has massive bushes under the arm, sasquatch legs, and pubes sticking out from her suit. Which one do you think people... both men and woman... will find more attractive? The fact is, that these curly hairs are chaotic, and not the most pretty things to look at. Also, it sort of represents a masculine aspect, and look. Where as a woman that shaves, is trying to look clean, smooth, neat, and pretty... and a male.. is more rough, chaotic, rugged. While many men probably wouldnt care if a female wasnt shaven while in the winter, in their houses... its a whole other thing, when that same woman is wearing something that reveals her arm-hair to the publics eye, and or spreads out beyond her bathing suit. In general, many females leg hairs are invisible to most men. When one of my EXs claimed to feel bad about not shaving her legs, I was surprised, because I didnt really notice. They are much thinner hairs, much shorter, and not in a mass density... like my leg hairs. So again, that didnt bother me. But I will easily admit, that huge bushes under the arms is a bit repulsive (masculine). And... any woman Im with should have a well trimmed beaver. Extra points, if its shaved bare... as that makes it so much nicer on the tongue... All of the woman Ive been with have not had that much hair downstairs... but I remember when I was a little kid... rushing into a room where my aunt was changing, and seeing her naked. Wow... she had a FOREST down there. It looked like someone took an Afro Wig, and glued it to her entire lower triangle area. Sorry... but It was ghastly! Also, even I trim my neither region, to be less thick / dense. And finally, there is another difference between males and females. Males sweat 10x as much, and 10x easier.. than females. As such, our hair is critical to wicking that sweat, so that we dont create massive puddles worth of dripping sweat + clothing sweat stains. Ive seen females go several days without washing their hair.. and you could never tell. But with me? A night of sleep, and my hair is oily, and matted to my head. I could not simply Brush it.. and head out. I NEED a daily shower, to get it clean... and worthy of public view.

Women reduced hygiene and growing out their body hair. Basically acting and by all appearances male, while complaining about mens exact same behavior as being “toxic” and “muh patriarchy”. If I wanted to deal with those kinda people I’d just exist as a man and walk out the door into the world…..and not into a relationship with someone who brings nothing but personality instability, insecurities, and antagonistic male-ish aggression. Men are so ‘bad’, that they’ve made their bar for accomplishments being pseudo-men. Q: Why? A: Because it isn’t sincere criticism of men, it’s about weakening men and trying to overtake them. A few years ago on a ‘mothers support’ message board, the mothers of young boys and yet to be born boys were discussing the INTENTIONAL malnourishment of THEIR OWN male children during adolescence in an effort to create weakened/weaker males in general.

From what I've seen, men are more critical about a woman's appearance than the other way around. Women don't go out of their way to put each other down based on looks, whereas men's primary mode of insulting a woman online and in-person is typically through her looks. "You're ugly, you're mid, you're a fattie." Women are more supportive of each other when it comes to looks. Men decide a woman's value based on her looks, so they're more likely to put a woman down through that if she displeases them.

It's rare that men go out of their way to insult a woman's looks either, I've seen. It's usually triggered by the woman they are targeting saying some misandrist or downright wrong stuff and going for males' looks first. Not saying that makes it okay, but it's very rarely unprovoked.

Are you willing to forego the fact that in a substantial amount of cases, women also like to coax or prop up other women at the expense of the truth because of their communitarian nature? Men are usually quite outright and exercise brevity while getting a point across since they are willing to risk a physical conflict. This has a basis for it through the lens of psychology and anthropology. Thus men don't as often engage in duplicity or backtalk, women do.

Women not shaving under their arms or legs or private parts is nothing new or original in the world of being trendy, fashionable or even the take, not giving a damn. In the 20th century alone, American soldiers found when going to fight in France during WW1 that it was fashionable for many French women not to shave under their arms. During the Swinging 60's many hippie girl did not shave anything at all, in an attempt to be natural, to keep it real. "People is what you see baby". Now a days women not shaving for shock value is not shocking at all. However, scientist have found that women who do not shave under their arms may have higher body odor.

I'm kind of surprised by this. This seems like the most minor of things to be concerned about, and yet, it's a clip of two guys whining about what some women may do with their bodies. I use "whining" cautiously, as I generally love your content Chris. However, I can not see why I should care about whether women want to shave themselves or not. To be honest, it is kind of ridiculous. You can choose to date women who shave or not. And maybe there are guys into that. Like I have seen comments on here by guys who are whining about women who lift weights. Like, ok, so...don't date women who lift weights then? Or go to the gym and lift weights so that this doesn't become an issue, since men are naturally stronger than women. Also, 99% of men and women do not use Tik Tok. It's going to be, if any, a very small percentage who do this. The reality of it is that the vast majority of us are so wedded to traditional norms of what is considered attractive, that few if any of us, will ever push past that and try something different. Even the most ardent feminist likely shaves themselves and expects a guy to make decisions on a date. This ain't it, chef.

I didn't like myself, but after thinking about it a bit more than a minute I decided to better myself, try to enjoy the small things and not care about what others think about me. And women over 30 love this because it’s validating the fact that no matter how hard we try, many of us can no longer make ourselves care about being “hot” all the time. The shaving one ugh, I don't care if others don't but I absolutely hate not shaving and that was one that I had to stand up for myself and explain "No, this isnt for attention or to look better than anyone, this is a health hygine thing because I'm happier and feel fresher and cleaner without that hair so much more than having to look or deal with it." Nah, I'm happy for them that they are comfortable and confident enough with themselves to feel they don't need to try maintain their body, but girl I gotta eat right, I gotta exercise, and I'm definitely gonna shave and do other things to care for my skin.
