This is my favorite kind of tutorial. Not just a "what to do" but also "why to do it this way." I'm a fan of context and this is pretty much exactly what I was looking for as a guide on how to practice cleaning up a difficult rotation I admittedly play very sloppily right now.

just want to mention using beserk prefight is no longer best because the 15% are no longer snapshotting (meaning they will work on all dots applied before using berserk). I now use: Pre-RG - > prowl - > prepot - > rake - > mf - > sr - > berserk/TF - > AF - > shred to 5 - >(RG if PS procced )- > rip

Excellent video, thanks for the in-depth walk through for single target feral dps! Did you specifically go for your stats or is that how they ended up? More specifically, did you intentionally try to avoid haste that much? I know the values do change depending on your current gear, but my understanding is that they're all fairly close and once one gets too far behind it becomes more valuable. My current secondary stats are: Crit: 31.67% Haste: 19.11% Mastery: 58.52% Versatility: 4.61% All my enchants and gems are mastery.

Yea that's what I thought. My understanding was you wanted enough haste to be able to keep up all your dots and savage roar, and anything extra was a waste and needed to be put into crit/mastery. Even enough crit can help cover up poor energy regeneration since crits give two combo points instead of one requiring fewer ability uses needed to apply 5 point rips and savage roar. It's just tough because of some of the drops I've gotten, an item might have a bunch of haste on it and no mastery, but it's got ~200 agility over my current piece because it rolled up so high (say 875 or something). I've had a few curve balls like that. Hopefully they'll fix it to where ilevel is a much better representation of an items strength than it currently. is. My legendary was Sephuz's Secret, lots of haste. It's an 895 ring with a largely useless effect who's stat budget, according to sims I've ran, is pretty much on par with an 865 ring if that ring has mastery. Feral does great single target dps, but its a nightmare to navigate through gear and relic choices. I still have an 825 relic on my daggers because it buffs rip and despite getting higher ilevel relics they all have buffed non-dps weapon talent upgrades. Oh well, hopefully 7.1 brings some good changes for us cats! Thanks again!

Awesome guide, though I'm curious how much more you can maintain this over a long period (say 5 minutes total or more). I have such a wild variance on my tests that I'm never sure what exactly I'm doing differently (or better). My dps varies from 270 to 320k on the dummy, usually the culprit is Ashamane's Rip that just doesn't seem to proc as often, other times I simply cannot tell. I know that's RNG, and it's expect, but the huge gap is quite upsetting. My ilvl is 861, with 32.5% Crit (without the NE bonus), 15% Haste, 48% Mastery, and 5.5% Versatility.

Let's say during berserk and BL/Hero, is it better to burn off extra combo points and energy with ferocious bite (assuming nothing is close to needing refreshing), or is it better to store the combo points and burn off the extra energy with shreds since there is nothing else to use the CPs on and nothing need to be reapplied. Energy pools so fast during that phase I wonder what is the bigger dps gain....FB or shreds?

Thanks for comparing!! I use this addon cause snapshotting with BT and TF is too hard for me while bossfighting. I sit on 270kdps on dummy over 10 minutes. But i have absolutly no burst dmg like you in the beginning. I never hit the 300kdps. I sit on ilvl 857, 30%cit , 23% haste, 48%mastery, 7%vers. Too much haste i guess :( edit: script was buggy cause of HT replaced for regrow , newer script in his thread pastebin.com/YQ4Rvt8j

Currently sitting at 360k sustain dps on my 882 ilvl feral with bis trinkets and 33 artifact traits. Simdps is 440k but i rarely can get over 400k sustain even with every possible buff. My performance is between 9 and 20 % on every bossfight in logs and I have no idea what am I doing wrong. Stats 59 mastery, 38 crit, 6 versa and 8 haste. Any help for me to improve my dps and performance? Feels like I dont have enough energy to keep up my full rips and savage roar...

Try going 80% mastery and 29% crit.... I'm 872 ilvl, sustaining at 410k dps.... starting burst with 620k.

I am at 862 atm just came here because I thought I am doing something wrong but nope I was doing everything the same as in this video I get to like 400k+ at burst than it drops to 270 290k and that is my dps . What am I missing 33 crit 25 haste 51 mastery 5 versatility

im 861 and do about the 15% less damage than he do. i can accelerate up to 500-600K at the start but then my problem is that I can't keep my dps above the 350k

I think it's because of his mastery. If you look in the beginning, it shows he basically only have mastery and crit chance which is important for this rotation.
