After visiting Feral's Discord server to confirm this dreadful news, I've noticed that a lot of people have been comparing this news to Clark Stacey basically holding the game hostage for money. No joke. That's actually what someone said.

The game has so much potential, this is kind of sad. Wildworks definitely walked into this one on their own. People obviously aren't happy about it, so why do it? Besides, with 6 million dollars already invested, it would be such a waste of so much money. They need to realize we have heads, feelings, and minds and that things aren't just going to ride smoothly on something extremely controversial and essentially making us feel as if we don't matter as much as SOME GAME THAT HASN'T EVEN BEEN RELEASED. Come on now, an entire company and no one was smart enough to realize this wan't a good idea. :)

Actually, im pretty certain quite a good few of WW employees don't agree with this decision but they, unfortunately, cannot do anything about it. Sam is one of them. Quite sad considering a lot of them were probably very passionate for Feral writing all it's lore and everything only for Clark to let it all go to waste. They should honestly retire at this point, I would if I was made to comply with something that I and clearly an entire community does not agree with.

I feel so bad for the people who spent so much money on this game (I spent quite a bit myself) but this feels like such a scam for people who wont be able to play Cinder (if it ends up replacing it)

gather around children, for it is time that I tell you the tale of how a piece of corn shut down an entire company edit: it isn't CONFIRMED to be shutting down. we've just been threatened and it's veryvery close. if things continue the way that they are, it WILL. editedit: so clark later defined the term of sunsetting *not* to be shutting down, just put on the backburner with no more updates and focused support. although a sunset will most likely lead to the game's shut down ANYWAYS. just thought i'd clarify this. editeditedit: i told you so.

Well I say have a choice to make! Are we the Artists,Adventurers,Nature Lovers,Dreamers,and Hope Creators just gonna sit around and do nothing? Or are we gonna fight back somehow! We have to do something people! Trying to talk things out with Clark Stacey already have proven not an option since he deleted 90% of the comments made on their new game Cinder. Sitting around hoping he'll change his mind won't help either! We need action! We will protest right at the Wildworks Headquarters doorstep if we have to! As one of the first Closed Beta Testers I say we get back whats ours! If we continue to sit around doing nothing not only will Feral most likely shut down and whos to say Animal Jam Classic won't be next? Now is our time to act and fight back as a community!

Clark said that if they couldn't manage to keep up developing feral, they could give management to someone else, which at this point I really REALLY want the to happen. Let's hope they find a good company up for the job👍

Clark later clarified, "sunsetting the game" doesn't mean closing it down. The servers will keep running but no new updates, just like AJ classic

I just hope another company could buy it and keep it running. Did not know it took 6 million to create it. Let's hope for a future for Feral and both AJ for fans of wildworks. The lore is still being written

Lol I can already tell Cinder is going to fail. Like no doubt about it man. And then if that fails all the games and there company might be shut down witch would be a good and bad thing. I gotta be totally honest, I'm VERY upset. After realizing I simply grew out of Animal Jam, I was thrilled to hear the announcement of Feral. And I'm sure you can imagine my excitement when I was accepted into the beta testing. I was thoroughly enjoying the game along with a childhood friend of mine who played AJ with me for several years back when we were in elementary school together. All I could think of when playing the game was "This is just the beta? This is incredible already, I can't wait to see the fully released game!" and I truly was. I'm not one for making online friends but I actually did that with Feral. There are a good few people I genuinely look forward to talking with when I log on. The community is so friendly and I really enjoy being a part of it. After trying to rely on my patience and leveling up in order to obtain star fragments, I finally gave in and spent money on Feral. Literally less than a week later, this I'm hit with THIS? I can't believe I've been a part of supporting a company that is so willing to (for lack of better words) betray their own community like this. That's frustrating to say the least. For now I'm going to keep playing and hopefully make the most out if it before it's left out to rot, but I for one am going to be comfortably sitting with my popcorn when I watch WildWork's downfall.

was going through clark's twt and found this from oct 26, before the announcement of cinder, "I see NFTs as having 2 big problems: enviro impact and diversity in access. Proof-of-stake blockchains are solving the 1st, but much work still to be done. Work's just starting w/the diversity problem." Thoughts??

Hope is not lost. All we need to do is continue supporting Feral. Obviously, not give into Cinder and not support that, but keep supporting Feral, as much as you can, give it as much attention so that more people can try it. That's one of the points about the article which told WildWorks' side if the story.

This is so sad. I didn't play the game much, honestly, but the time I did put into it, the pride I had for being a beta tester, the attachment I got to my designs... and it was all for, what, an NFT game to plow down this one. Why shut down this community of dedicated players, long-time fans, fans who could reasonably take over the storytelling for your game, run it by themselves, and shut it all down completely for the sake of NFTs. Are they not losing players? Are they expecting their teenage/YA audience to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to play their once-free game? Do they really think that their already existing and dedicated community who are obviously upset are going to want to play? What is their plan here?? Who thought this was a good idea??
