The Feral Predator from PREY vs The Jungle Hunter from PREDATOR - The first and latest Predators seen on screen - Who wins?
In the Red corner we have the Feral Predator
A Yautja who hunted during September 1719 in the then territory of the Comanche tribe.
After wreaking havoc against both the Comanche and French trappers, he eventually came into conflict with Naru, a Comanche healer and aspiring hunter, and was ultimately defeated and killed after she used the creature's advanced weaponry against him.
Feral was a unique specimen amongst typical Predators, not only possessing a visually distinctive appearance, but also sporting weapons and gadgetry that were more primitive compared to other examples seen in Yautja culture. This was due to his unique background - hailing from a different, even hotter hemisphere of the Predator homeworld, essentially being a 'Desert Predator'.
Feral Predator culture supposedly held a reverence toward bones, not only for the fashioning of their armour and equipment, but also being key to the subspecies' diet as well.
Owing to his name, the Feral Predator presumably possessed a lesser intelligence to his cousins, and perhaps a larger degree of savage behaviour. Indeed, the Predator seemed to specifically enjoy close-combat, even without the use of his Wristblades; wrestling with and killing a bear with his own hands. That is not to say he was not adept in armed combat however, and he employed the use of several unique armaments.
Feral Predators weapons and equipment consisted of:
Wristblades, Bolt Gun, Wrist Shield , a Combistick able to split into two halves, Razor Net, Bolas, Flechettes, Biomask, Cloaking Device, Disintegrator gas, Medicomp.
The Feral Predator also possessed a curiosity towards the dynamic between local fauna, and, upon encountering its wildlife, he slowly built up his repertoire of trophies, working his way up the food chain to larger, deadlier prey, from snakes and wolves, to bears and humans.
Though it is unknown if the Feral Predator shared the same code of honour as his cousins, he at least bore some traits reminiscent of an honourable Yautja, taking little interest in prey he deemed non-hostile - he notably ignored Naru for much of his hunt, until she did eventually pose a threat.
Strengths:
Feral Predator is physically strong and durable, defeating a Grizzly Bear and was seen taking huge amounts of damage.
He has a large inventory of weaponry, including a BoltGun which shoots guided ammunition, and is skilled with melee weapons
Weaknesses:
Feral was seen to venture out in the open a lot at times even when he had plenty of tree cover, leaving himself exposed to attack and taking a lot of damage.
He was baited, outsmarted and beaten by an opponent much, much smaller than him.
Being from 300 years earlier than his opponent, he has older weapons, and is lacking a PlasmaCaster.
And in the Blue corner we have The Jungle Hunter
A Yautja from the Jungle Hunter Clan who Hunted in Guatemala during an insurgency in 1987. He is widely known as the Predator who killed several American military personnel in the region, including members of an elite unit led by "Dutch" Schaefer.
Dutch eventually faced the Jungle Hunter in close quarters combat, mortally wounding him and leading the creature to commit honourable suicide with his Self-Destruct Device.
The Jungle Hunter seemed to enjoy toying with his prey as is shown multiple times; he prefers to hunt in the trees, and is a very intelligent and stealthy hunter.
He has an aggressive, yet honourable personality as shown during the fight with Dutch. He follows the Yautja Honour Code, which is seen when he spares Anna who's unarmed. He also only kills prey he deems 'worthy'.
Jungle Hunters weapons and equipment consist of:
Wristblades, Plasma Caster, Biomask, Cloaking Device, Medicomp, Self-Destruct Device.
While relatively lightly armed by Yautja standards, he makes up for it by being a master of utilising the environment around him to stay hidden until it’s time to strike.
Strengths:
The Jungle Hunter excelled at stealth, and was very intelligent; he had great judgement when deciding when to engage.
He displayed great physical strength, beating Dutch to a pulp like it was nothing.
And possesses more advanced weaponry.
Weaknesses:
He carried few weapons. Only a PlasmaCaster and WristBlades.
The two Predators find themselves in a wooded arena, with lots of bushes, logs, and trees.
The Feral Predator wanders out into the open ground, searching for prey.
He explores his surroundings, but all he sees around the forest floor are small rodents and bugs, nothing worth hunting.
A couple of dozen meters away, and high up in a tree, sits the Jungle Hunter, he’s been watching the Feral Predator down below for a few minutes now.

JH definitely wins, but it isn't a matter of intelligence, it's experience and hunting preferences. There are no truly stupid predators. JH is more of a stalker hunter, Feral is more of a berserker, very up close and willing to take damage. He made mistakes, though, so Feral may have just turned Blooded since he was on a solo hunt. That also explains why he was so...bad with his bolt gun. It was probably his first hunt with it. JH is definitely more experienced as Blooded, to the point that he may even be an Elite, so no real question about the win.

He touched down likely assuming that there wouldn't be any sophisticated life capable of tracking. 300 years later they obviously knew better and would likely be more careful. Hands down the Jungle Hunter will destroy the Feral. The Feral let his guard down to many times. He retrieved the darts in front of his enemies. He uncloked many times when he wasnt supposed to (like at the ending, right before Naru shot him in the back of his head). He fired his weapon when he didnt have his biomask on, knowing it had a targeting system, TWICE! (Ok I understand the second time, he was shot in the head. He wasnt thinking straight). He walked right into a trap of the french. He was about to be killed by Tabe but he cloked and got a dishonorable kill out of him. Plus, he was hunting and making trophies out of small animals, which means he had very little experience in a hunt. How is this even a discussion?!

The Feral Predator was more heavily-armed, but there is no substitute for experience, brains, and tech advances. The Jungle Hunter was explicitly noted to be a much more experienced hunter than the others we see in later movies, like the City Hunter and Crucified Predator that gets his head lopped off by Berserker, and especially the Feral Predator. Feral may have more toys to play with, but in all the other categories, the Jungle Hunter blows him out of the water. The other key thing is the Jungle Hunter fights almost strictly smart, setting plenty of ambushes and letting his targets come to him, as well as spotting most of the traps laid out for him, while Feral blunders into them almost every time. Word is that it was his first hunt on Earth, and boy howdy does it show.

@@dobi287 not really fan theory since it's confirmed the predator only gets a plasma caster after becoming blooded which means you have to be a experienced hunter to be one. He even showed he's an experienced hunter by the way he took out Dutch's team and only died because he did get cocky playing with his food and died by a falling log. Where feral predator was extremely careless (but cool) on how he approached his foes. The feral even got lucky that bear stopped attacking him and allowed him to gain his ground because was initially losing the fight and he had to temporarily retreat against the native brother because he was struggling in that fight. I do give him the benefit of doubt that he did lose that fight to Naru do to him getting shot in the back of the head. But other than that he was definitely an inexperienced fighter and was only able to win his fights do being durable and stronger than his opponents

I think the "shorter" actor this time around is slightly mitigated. YES the actor for PREY was only 6ft 9, however the costume was also designed differently! Previously, we would have the head of the actor inside the biomask, with the crown of the head adding a few inches in height. With PREY, the head of the actor was inside the NECK of the costume, so there was an ENTIRE head on top of the actor, making the feral predator WAY over 7 feet. I would estimate around 7ft 5 or 6 inches in height!

Jungle is also either faster or more agile being able to dodge fully auto gunfire whereas feral kept getting hit with flintlocks also feral may be stronger(*) but jungle is definitely more durable, feral was almost killed by taabe one on one while jungle tanked explosions

Junglehunter wins:He is more expirienced,and also more intelligent.He is more a tactical hunter who knows to make with minimalistic weapons a maximum damage.Also he wach and analyse the pray.Then he starts to terrorize the prey(plays with the psyche of the pray)and the pray knows never when or where the junglehunter will attack it.The junglehunter seems also more a better strategian than the feral.

I feel like jungle hunter had less weapons because in the lore it states that the less weapons used to kill worthy prey the better the honor so I’m guessing that he only had those two weapons because he was confident in his ability to hunt that he went in with less it proves he’s a more honorable and skilled hunter.

With all the weaponry, Jungle P utilized his environment to the fullest, and used some misdirection....he was very efficient and crafty....the Prey P was ruthless and clearly enjoyed killing....Size wise, Jungle P was huge and hulking, whereas the Prey P was very agile...Id say, overall, Jungle P...

Jungle hunter of course. It took on heavily armed mercenaries and left no single tracks. While feral, got detected easily, tracks are visible and lack of experience also relying on technology and weapons more.

Jungle would play with feral, feral is too reckless and is undersized so even if they came to blows jungle would have a big advantage, and people are seriously overrating his durability he was taking shots from 1700 weapons lol unlike jungle that took a point blank explosion that didn’t even seem to effect him remotely in the fight, and he was barely taking hits from faster more accurate weapons because he actually knows how to hunt
