The story of Porsche so far honestly reminds me a lot of a particular mechanic who used to help me back when I still raced go karts competitively. He was also a boy with very little education, yet also had an unnerving skill at engine building and mechanics, even worked on restoring an old 2 stroke bike. Had he not been born in a poor Brazilian community, I think in a different world he would have made for an excellent engine builder, with proper training and education. Makes me wonder how many other brilliant talents are out there, but are in places where they can't be fully explored. Excellent video as always btw.

Very interesting story. These historic videos are a great addition to the technical topics. On the technical side however i want to pitch an idea for a video that would be very interesting: Racecars that take off and fly off the track and the reasons why, famous examples Mercedes CLR at LeMans 99, Porsche GT1 at Road Atlanta 98 and Nissan GT3 at VLN 1 in 2015.

Noted, true that would be a good topic.

I always think of him as "Doctor Porsche" so I am surprised to hear he is basically self-educated. Okay, spoiler alert: he later receives a well-deserved honorary doctorate.

One of the reasons for this series. His title today is so long but it makes sense to see how he started.
