I wonder what the reason is for the lifting grab not to be anchored on the trailer when on the move.?

No idea. It's my dad that's driving. Maybe he forgot?

The crane is as you can see located on the roof of the tractor, and swings with it. If you grabs the trailer and then turns or goes over a bump, the whole crane would fight against the movement of the trailer. To be able to fasten the grabber to the trailer you would have to put every part of the crane into floatmode, and that does not exist on that machine. The grabber is supposed to grab on to the tractors nose when driving, but that impeeds the vision from the cab. He puts the grabber in this position at the end of this clip.
