Ferguson TO20 tractor Hupp trans

This is an American made Ferguson TO20 tractor. It has a Hupp auxiliary transmission. I believe it’s a step down but not positive. It has very good tires, weights inside the front wheels. The pto and hydraulic 3pt lift work. The brakes work however they aren’t the strongest brakes as anyone with a Ford 9n or 2n also knows. The engine runs well but does has an exhaust leak.

Very nice tractor. We just got a TO-20 yesterday, just posted the video. These are such neat tractors. Nice to learn from others who have them.

I love mine, was buying it for parts. I knew it had the Hupp trans in it but I dont know if the seller knew it. he had let it sit for many years in the weeds. we had it running the next day while it was still on the trailer. while I love my TE20 with the Hupp dual drive the TO20 has become my fave of my lil grey Fergies.

yes, their is a overdrive, direct and underdrive, , to access the underdrive, put the tranny in neutral , put the aux in neutral, gently pull the hupp lever straight out towards the "on a regular car Passenger side wheels" , then forward

I believe it's Hupp, not Rupp. And they did both, increase the speed as well as reduce the speed in each gear.

Hello. Thanks for viewing and commenting. After you mentioned it I looked the lever over closer and cleaned some dirt off and it does look like Hupp. Thanks for the information.

I have a Hupp in my Ford 8n. They’re not easy to find parts for, they weren’t as common as the Sherman was. Still, it gives a bit more variety.

Thanks for the view and comment. It is different. Doesn’t always stay in LO. Too bad the pto speed didn’t stay at 540 no matter which range you’re in

I found a ford 2n with a sherman trans in it, dont know if it is up or down, it does not run. I hate to let it go knowing that sherman is sitting there but we will see.
