I'm super surprised she turned down your offer to make it for her. Perhaps she figured it would be too much of a hassle for you. My dad loves my homemade kombucha. I'm thinking if he lived closer, I'd have to make 2 gallons instead of 1, just to keep up lol Take care ❤

I don't know if you're interested. But I bought my stainless stock pot from Costco for around $35 on sale. It has a really nice heavy bottom. It's about the same size as my canner. I use it all the time! I just stumbled upon your channel. I enjoy your personality. You seem extremely knowledgeable. Many seem to stumble around, to me it seems they're experimenting. Just wanting to make a video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏

I just LOVE my large halogen hotplate! I seriously recommend looking into them! Also, I put a trivet in my All American and autoclave bottles up side down. Shorter heating up time (only 3 quarts) and no sloshing about with water. Just do a quick release when done, and you're ready for the next batch of bottles. 👍🏻

I just finished watching 4 of your videos today, including you and your son turning over your garden. I've been watching/subscribed since I started fermenting with fruit kvas last summer and I just want to give you a tip for making perfect green tea. I recommend loose leaf tea 🍃 to save you the headache of opening bags and to only steep for no more than 4 minutes. It's easy to ruin green tea because it is so delicate. A huge study in China says that after 3-4 minutes, higher levels of toxic substances are released, also making it bitter. It should be light green in color, never dark. I get my loose leaf green tea from the Asian market here in Pedasí, Panamá. Good luck❣️

Hubs is a beer and wine maker, and he has carboys with spouts/spigots/valves (whatever you wanna call them) on them. I was thinking that one carboy would be great for what you are doing, as a way to help you fill your bottles. He puts his full carboy in the middle of one side of the table, grabs a crate and sits in front it, with the empty bottles on one side and the full ones put to the other side. It has an on/off valve, and the opening fits perfectly into a beer bottle. I'm thinking he paid somewhere between $30-50 for them, I don't think they were that expensive. Even with the brownness of the bottle, he can still see his fill line, so he doesn't overfill unless he has had too many sips of beer...lol. Then he is just silly. But anyway, something to think about. I loved watching your process with such a large batch. That was pretty amazing!

Really a great video on your process. I am looking forward to your tutorial on making kombucha. I do have a question. Does the digital acidic reader work better than the dip sticks? I started my own scoby as I was drinking so much kombucha it was getting expensive. I love what I am getting out of my scoby, but when I check the acidity with the little blotter sticks, it never seems to go below 4.0 or 3.9. It can get rather tangy, so I am thinking the blotter sticks may not be as accurate. I also do water kefir and milk kefir, so I am always drinking some sort of fermented drink.

I hear a lot of good things about kombucha but I wasn't sure I would like it. I bought some GT's SYNERGY Raw kombucha Trilogy at the store to try it. and honestly. I'm not crazy about it. It's really got a funky smell and it really just taste like carbonated vinegar and not a good vinegar at that. Is there one recommend that would be better for a first timer to try to see if this is something I would want to invest in making?

Hi Anna. I would love info with how to do continuous booch. I've been making my own kombucha for about 8 years now, but still can't get the continuous booch.

I’ve heard a lot of benefits to continuous brew but never made it longer term to really know a lot. I do plan to start soon because I’m curious as well

I agree it’s on the pricier side, I haven’t been able to find drop shipping tshirts where the lettering will stay on for any less yet unfortunately.
