Looks like they are listening to feedback, I'm really happy to see the larger opening and ability to purge the bottom with co2, this would also help to rouse the hops with co2 and get better utilization. Almost all commercial breweries are doing that.

Nice review Gash! I like the option to connect a co2 line at the jar. Bigger openings is a big plus too. It's a pain to clean my Fermentasaurus. It's still plastics though, if I'll upgrade its gonna be stainless

Great video. After 10yrs not brewing I’m back in and just ordered Fermzilla and have zero info on pressure brewing. Would love to see a video or two for those who are clueless on this area. Liked the idea of the fermentation pressurizing itself.

Checking out some of your older videos that apply to things I am considering and this is nice but the height is a bit of an issue for my fermentor as it is only 30" height so I may go for the newer al rounder unit just to try out the pressure. (" is imperial for inches).

Love the videos and just got a fermzilla with pressure kit & spunding valve. Although I won’t be messing with co2 for some time I plan on dialling in fermenting around 10psi. Can you happily do that with the butterfly open? I know the collection container isn’t designed for use under pressure
@ausfoodgarden5 жыл бұрын
It's great the openings are larger than the saurus and the ability to purge and dry hop from below is nice. Sadly for me it wont fit in either of my ferment fridges at least not unless I built some kind of custom stand. I'll have to stick to using kegs for pressure ferments and the old bucket for anything else until I can talk the missus into allowing me to get a bigger fridge :) Hope to see it in action soon.

This looks fantastic. I really think this will be a game-changer much in the same way as The Grainfather has been. They've really thought about it from the brewer's point of view and the price point is perfect.

so... if you want to ferment under pressure and/or serve the beer from it, then that limits your brewing schedule, so wouldn't you want to have at minimum, 2 of these? Also, great video - thank you!

Fermzilla V2 look's awesome, so many options and advantages over most other equipment out there. One of the great options I like about it is ferment/serve from the one vessel. And less mess to clean up. Some of the other advantages less exposure to oxygen. Have been waiting a while to buy one don't know when they release them in NZ?

Super keen on getting one of these bad boys when they are back in stock. My only question would be how to heat them? I currently have my fermenters sitting on heat pads in the brew freezer but can't see that that would work with these... any ideas?

Hey Gash. Great vids. I just received my Fermzilla. Having issue with the collection vessel leaking. I've added a layer of keg lube to the gasket but didn't help. I also pressurized to 12 PSI and wasn't able to tighten up the cup any more than I already have it. Funny thing is when the valve is closed the leaking stops. Only happens when the valve is in the open position. I did contact Kegland and they said to pressurize and try tightening the cup which i did but wasn't able to get it to move. Just wondering if you had any issues like this?
@HomeBrewNetwork5 жыл бұрын
Check the seal is seated correctly and try some lube. I had a couple of leaks but always managed to get them sealed in the end. Really need two of those spanner things! Hope you get it sorted mate. Cheers!

Would you be able to tell me how tall it is with a ball lock, gas line connected to the closed transfer lid system? My fridge is only 28” tall. Not sure if this will fit if I wanted to ferment under pressure and transfer co2 to a nearby keg.
@HomeBrewNetwork5 жыл бұрын
Its a little bit bigger than that, probably around 32 inches with a disconnect on top, cheers mate!
@pow06er5 жыл бұрын
The Home Brew Network thanks! You mentioned about capturing co2 to kegs. Are just running another line from the red spunding valve to a gas connect? Similar to the brulosophy setup?
@HomeBrewNetwork5 жыл бұрын
I dont watch brusloppy, so I have no idea what he did sorry, just run a line from the gas post on fermenter to the keg and put the spunding valve on the other keg post. Theres a slightly longer explanation as a reply to Steve Cassells comment below. Cheers

G’day Gash, you mentioned purging a keg with co2 from fermentation, does that mean you put the spunding valve on the keg..? I think your vids are more informative than most.thanks
@HomeBrewNetwork5 жыл бұрын
G'day mate, line from co2 post on the fermenter into a eg and yep put the spunding valve on the keg, there are several different ways, you can fill the keg up with sanitiser and force the sanitiser out, thats the best way, or just hook up an empty keg and flush with the co2. Took me about 4 hours to empty the keg of star san, so theres plenty of co2 to use. Cheers!

Most if not all seals should be in place, you may have a bag of spares, maybe one extra top larger seal if it’s an older model, I’ve had mine for ages now so can’t be exactly sure what’s included these days. Cheers
