The reason why Linie couldn’t deal any _real_ damage to Stark is because Linie is just… too weak to use Eisen’s moves. They rely on strength, and Linie lacks the ability to put any actual power behind the movements. That’s why the shoulder cut didn’t remove his entire arm or why he wasn’t cut in half with that last arrack. Demons are prideful and arrogant, if Linie used something like a spear during the fight, she probably would have won, but she wanted to kill Eisen’s best student with Eisen’s own moves. That’s why she lost. EDIT: Stark also genuinely didn’t think he could beat her when she was using his master’s techniques. He could, Linie isn’t that big of a threat to him, if you think about it. That being said, she IS still a danger, and if Linie chose to actually go for the kill as fast as she could instead of playing around and trying to kill Stark using Eisen’s techniques, she could have killed him before he got his head on straight.
@RyodracoАй бұрын
I would put her weak relative to Stark rather than simply weak. Compared to a normal person Linie was still superhumanly strong (just look at how the ground cracks and craters under her movements and attacks at times and how easily she wields that heavy axe with one hand), just not enough to get through Stark's tough body.
@HydracloneАй бұрын

I think everyone is looking at this fight a little bit incorrectly and, if we take Stark's mentality when going into this fight and how fast he ends it after this changes, it becomes obvious that he got stalled and sandbagged HARD in this fight by his own insecurities. We know he has a problem dealing with fear and we know he is going into the fight with the mentality that their opponents are stronger than him. Now imagine suddenly his openent busting out his Master's moves minute one of the fight and at his Master's speed. Linie even mentions that he "is only fighting defensively" and yeah because Stark thinks he has no chance against his master. When he finally realizes she is not his master, he ends the fight on a single blow. Scared read bean was stalling the fight like crazy because he was to scared to challenge the idea that he could be stronger than his master at any point.
@somebodyintheworld5036Ай бұрын
Stark is also somewhat abnormal himself, in the same way that Fern is also quite abnormal (keep in mind Fern was able to stand up to one of the 7 sages, yeah she has new defensive magic that previous mages who lost to him didnt, but her speed, proficiency and the ability to somewhat match his mana in defense during the fight when she's still technically a teenager is actually crazy when you think about it). Eisen was afraid of him physically and Eisen is the warrior who can do things that are appalling to Heiter, so Stark by comparison should also be similarly tough. We see him take an injury to his arm from Lugner and literally not care about it. It's bandaged for like 10 minutes after they reach the church and then he says "Yeah Im good now".

Stark was taking a lot of blows, but he realized that they're so much weaker than Eisen's that he could actually tank them. Then if you watch the lighting strike he did, it was so fast they only animated the start and the finish, there's no frames in between of the axe coming down. Instant (practically) attack. The next episode... one of the best anime episodes you'll see. So well done.

Actually I think Stark just decided he was going suicide attack if need be, just like he said. My take on warriors like Stark and Eisen is that they are using mana as well, but it circulates within their bodies and flows out to their melee weapons as with Stark's signature move. So something like an axe strike that plausibly ought to cut him in half is instead absorbed in a fashion not so different to the way Frieren dealt with the magical wire of a few episodes ago. Surface bleeding happens, but their bodies are massively toughened beyond the potential of mundane flesh.

Okay...now you know how powerful Fern is. This is easily in the top three best episodes of Season One...I personally rank this one as my third favorite. What makes this episode stand out is just how striking this fight is. Fern is fighting without effort. Lugner knows he is losing. His confidence crumbles, but what really stands out is he doesn't understand what is happening. He cannot fathom _how_ she is beating him. Once things go beyond comprehension, it's all but over. Fun Fan Fact: Fern is capable of casting Zoltraak at a rapid pace. Fans have dubbed this spam attack "Zoltraak-47" after the AK-47. This isn't the last time this season where Fern unleashes Zoltraak-47. But remember...it's only in the top three. The greatest episode of anime ever made (arguably) is up next.

She's getting so strong right before our eyes. Likewise, Stark gained resolve against the dragon and more belief in himself as the fight went on with Linie (who has one of the coolest designs and abilities imo). Aura views her possessed slaves as tools. Himmel got upset when Frieren blew them away because she was also treating them like tools instead of as Aura's victims. This is reinforced when we see the necklace of the Grant family, meaning that's the body of his son. Of course to Aura, her opinion was "Himmel's dead so who cares what he thinks". But she really should have kept Himmel's name out of her mouth, because as Frieren said "Good. Now I can kill you without mercy." Aura pushed the Himmel button. She shouldn't've did that.

Since this Video was released a few hours ago heres the translation of the demons abilities: Lügner "lier" uses "Bluterei" which is a wrong way to use the word "Blutung" as in "Bleeding" and "bleedery". Linie "Line" uses erfassen "Lock on". Cheers from west Germany. You are fun to watch. Oh btw. the style of narration is what we call "Herzensbildung" literally building of Heart and is designed to spark and nurse maturity by narration.

One of Stark's traits is he tends to take a lot of things at face value. So to him seeing someone fighting like Eisen immediately puts him into panic mode because he couldn't ever beat his master and he doesn't think about it beyond that. The thing about Stark without spoiling is that he's is STRONG. Not as much as Eisen in his prime. But strong nonetheless. One thing that many people tend to forget is that this is post-demon lord era. Stark already displayed some bizarre talents with Solar dragon. He lacks real combat experience. Combined with his lack of confidence and bravery. And you get the "understandable" clueless OP character that suppose to be MC in many Isekai anime these days. Also, Stark is a warrior, trained by the legend warrior Eisen himself. And what's archtype of warrior? You lean into much more of a barbaric/berserker/tanker archtype than the like of MC class like Himmel. Dont be deceived by how he usually behave. This baby boy is much more of a beast when you really think about it.

Amazing reaction! Can't wait til the next episode!
@jiruyan939Ай бұрын
Just a simple analogy, Linie reads the mana flow and copies so she is able to execute the form and style of Eisen’s technique. However two person executing the same form and routine can have varying results due to the build of the body and the training/experience. On top of it, different weapons have different functions. Axe chops and cleaves which requires considerable strength for best usage; while spear is for stabbing long range and sword is for slash and slice. It was just incredibly unwise for Linie to use an Axe against the Warrior’s best disciple. Stark knew Linie was nimble and knew the only way to close the distance is to open himself up (vulnerable) for the counter attack. Once Linie hits him; like a bear trap, as we know this puts her in attacking range for a OTKO

Stark is from a village of super-human warriors. His physical abilities are way beyond what a normal warrior could possibly accomplish. In attacking Graf's castle, he leaps up half the length of the wall, and Fern just flies over it. In the same way, Stark leaps up to face the Dragon. He also can absorb an abnormal amount of battle damage. The demon does not have the strength to slice him in half even when he lets her do a side swing which brings her in close to him, and with an axe downstroke, even if she had killed him, the axe would still have come down on her. Think the number 1 DC Superman here.

While a mage trains their mana and magical control a warrior trains their body. Stark is an incredible warrior therefore his body is far stronger and sturdier than a normal person. A blow that would cut a normal person in half might barely scratch a warrior on the level of Stark, Eisen, or Himmel. Linnie is stronger than a normal person just because she is a demon but demons don't train their bodies since magic power is the basis for their hierarchy. She simply wasnt strong enough to injure Stark enough to kill him
