@JRLeeman The Catholic church was founded by Jesus Christ. Who else is the ultimate teaching authority? The only purpose of bishops and popes is to be true to the original teachings of Christ, not invent rubbish to fit in with Marxist and other secular ideologies. That is what Protestants do and that is why I converted to Catholicism. I got tired of listening to rubbish political sermons by power hungry, immoral money grabbers performing circuses in front of gullible crowds.

I looked up the meaning of Tucho as an Ibero-American nickname. The nearest I got to an answer was in the Tuareng online dictionary. The answer was tucho = monkey in Mexican Spanish slang... However, Mercedes' explanation below probably makes more sense.

They simply follow its provision that they may refuse the blessings to avoid scandal. The Pope is perfectly OK with this. This issue has been greatly blown out of proportion. The "clarification" from Tucho the pervert makes it clear that Bishops cannot forbid blessings. Now, within 12 hours of the latest Francis folly, Purple Priest James Martin was photographed blessing a gay couple - exactly what wasn't supposed to happen. This is outrageous. Mainstream Protestant denominations are dying on the vine - the Church of England is on life support - because they have accommodated their teachings with decadent Western secular culture - the Rainbow Reich. The trads go to mass - traditional parishes get vocations - Francis friendly Germany generates five priests a year - tops. Francis wants to be court chaplain to the World Economic Forum - he's a little man, surrounded by little men and has made it his job to demolish the faithful. So out goes Burke, in comes Father Rupnik and James Martin. Lord, this guy tried to rehabilitate McCarrick and Cardinal Maloney. He humiliates Bishop Strickland, Cardinal Burke and Cardinal Muller in favor of Tucho Fernandez. BTW: add the Orthodox bishops to those that are stunned by this latest Francis folly. The St. Galens mafia wanted a Modernist - they sure got him. Modernism - the sum of all heresies. I do hope God brings Francis home ASAP - of course I'm not sure where home is. Something else to confess.

Francis is not so concerned about African bishops' rejection of the blessing of same-sex couples because in Africa priests cannot be arrested for the "crime" of homophobia. In the West, Francis knows that the arrest of faithful priests is likely in many countries for refusing to give the blessing. Francis' plan is to use the power of the State to persecute priests faithful to the Catholic Church, to induce the great apostasy of the clergy that has even been prophesied.

Civil authorities do not recognise the validity of Church Law, as it is outside their jurisdiction. Canon (Church) law is not legally recognized in any modern nation, except for the Vatican. Civil and Criminal law always overrule Canon law, even in nations that are predominantly Catholic. In addition, there are civil Freedom of Religion laws in most countries, that guarantee freedom of conscience, belief and expression. I know that this threat is out there, but it seems to be a scare tactic to coerce priests into violating their consciences to perform this proposed new 'blessing'. If you have specific legal information to the contrary to validate your claim, then please present it. Otherwise, it is best not to engage in scaremongering and gaslighting priests. 🙊😇

@@ricardovillela2175 The vast majority of priests don't preach about these matters in most countries because their bishops discourage it, to avoid upsetting people. (Same reason they rarely speak about abortion) Recently, a visiting priest in Ireland preached on this topic. The local bishop castigated him for upsetting people because some of the parishioners complained. There followed a national debate and many people praised the priest. At no time did anyone even suggest that it was 'illegal' to preach the Teachings of the Bible. If that were the case, then the Bible would be illegal. Religious freedom, which also exists in Brazil, protects freedom of conscience and belief, and it provides for the free exercise of religious beliefs. The Brazilian constitution also prohibits federal, state, and local governments from supporting or hindering any specific religion.

I pray for the souls of those who have fallen into error supporting them out of misplaced loyalty to the institution these men are tearing apart. I have lived a long life and I learned through many trials to trust in the Lord and heed his warnings when I have intuitions about a person. It is a tingling in the back of the neck or a singing in my ear when they speak. It manifests itself joyously when the person is righteous and in the form of foreboding when I meet evil. As regards these two, I experience profound dread when I even see pictures of them. Am I the only one who sees evil in the eyes of these men? I pray it is not vanity. There is a huge question mark over Pell especially regarding the 30 year old ex choir boy who had a heroine overdose which by the way his father attributed to the abuse he had suffered. Just because Pell was a traditional upholding the doctrine doesn’t allow him to get the get out of gaol card.

Once Cardinal Pell succeeded in having his case brought before the Australian Federal Court, all seven Judges were unanimous in arriving at the immediate conclusion that the evidence was not such as to be capable of supporting a “guilty” verdict by the Jury. It is interesting to note that, when the matter came, earlier, before the Court on Appeal in the State of Victoria, two of the Judges delivered verdicts which it was not possible, according to the seven Judges in the Federal Court, for them to have delivered, upholding the conviction. There was one Judge sitting in Victoria who was not corrupt. Mr Justice Weinberg was due to retire after a long and distinguished career on the Bench and he was simply not prepared to go out as a Judge who had delivered a corrupt Judgement. He politely apologised to his fellow Judges and went on to deliver a damming dissenting Judgement. As a result, the matter was able to go on to the Federal Court on appeal. If he had not done so, Cardinal Pell would have died in prison. Cardinal Pell was not resentful, nor vindictive. Released from the onerous task of trying to unravel all of the dishonesty in the Vatican finances, he said that he took the time in prison as the opportunity to have a sort of retreat. He listened to preachers on the public TV channels which he was permitted to watch. He did, clearly, grow spiritually. He was also quite open and honest - while he had not committed the offence of which he was convicted, he did agree that, in moving Priests around who had been found guilty of sexual abuse, he and the rest of the Hierarchy in Australia had left themselves open to justified criticism and it was his view that he was found guilty by the Jury because of that, not because they believed that he had actually committed the offence of which he stood charged. So, he accepted the imprisonment as punishment for such part of that general failure for which he might have been responsible. As a traditionalist, he believed that it was essential that the Faithful have access to the sacraments. If every Priest guilty of sexual abuse had been removed from the Priesthood, then the ministry of the Church would have been severely curtailed. The Faithful would no longer have had access to the sacraments.
