You cannot help but love Lollie. This is where Smallville went wrong with Clana, if they made Lana and the relationship more likeable (like Lollie's) then maybe there wouldn't be so much war happening within the Clois and Clana ships. Clana and Lollie weren't meant to be but at least Lollie's relationship was great to watch!

You are right Lana could have been that friend, but I think since Chloe took the best friend tag writers couldn't accommodate Lana as if a guy can't have two good friends who are girls. Also when Lex got involved it was a hot mess.

I couldn’t agree more. I’m a hardcore Clois fan, but I still enjoy seeing Lois and Oliver’s time together because they were fun, loveable, and mature enough to know when it wasn’t going to work. Clana went wrong by trying to make it this big, epic love-story instead of treating as what it was, a first love that inevitably saw them grow apart.

They originally envisioned Bruce Wayne as Lex’s old nemesis from school/Clark’s new billionaire friend, and also as the entry point into the Justice League . . . but they couldn’t get the rights to the character. Oliver Queen technically ticks all the same boxes, being rich, likely to have been a contemporary of Lex’s growing up, and a superhero who relies on skill and gadgets to make up for a lack of superhuman powers. So, he was the logical next choice.
