I'm a Leafs fan but I was so fucking pissed Edmonton lost this series. If anyone derserved to win the Cup after their season, it was Edmonton that year.

Pisani's goal scoring was so underrated. I traded for him in NHL 2007 and he led the league with 104 goals.

You're talking about that play where Stoll took the face-off, held his stick low, but still LEGALLY passed it back to the point with the blade, we shot it, scored and McG called it back saying that it was a hand pass! Correct? Yeah, Conklin F**KED us! Full "marks" to Markkanen. He came in with the pressure of the world on his shoulders and absolutely stood on his head. However, in Game 2 we were still distraught about the loss of Rolli that we played very conservative and lost 4-0.
@KozzyKoz16 жыл бұрын
Should've, Would've, Could've! There are NO BIGGER Oilers FANATICS than Me, trust Me, its borderline psychotic! 2-years later and these playoffs still haunt me. If only we didnt blow a 3-0 lead in the GM 1! If only we didnt lose Rolli to injury. If only Pisani had scored that tying goal in Game 7! These are thoughts that I've been wrestling with for 2+ years now! Alas, its not gonna change anything! All I can do now is remember how close my Boys came, and what an AMAZING 2 months it was!
@stanleycup200816 жыл бұрын
Yes, MadonnasSpareVagina, the Oiler haters of today will be silenced. Cowtown will fall apart, Vancouver Chokers will fall apart. Both those teams suck anyway and they will continue to suck! But the Mighty Oilers have the best young talent in the game and with the Gilbert signing (6 years) and Neilson signing (3 years). A few more to be signed and all the guys who were injured coming back heathly......LOOK OUT!! We have 350 plus man games lost due to injuries this year. OILERS IN 2009!!

defenitly an amzing moment I jumped out of my seat when this happened.....but still my fav moment of this goal is the commentator on NBC....hes like going nuts....."AND A BREAKAWAY PISANIIII SCOREEEEEEEEEEE".......check it out if you havent seen it.....

Alright settle down. I rephrase to post-lockout. Find me a bigger, more important goal, post lockout. I'd have to agree though, that Marchant's goal was great. He had his jets turned on and made Hatcher (was it Hatcher? dunno) look like a fuckin statue. Beautiful shot. Amazing goal, and an amazing call by Bob as usual.
@porksniffer15 жыл бұрын
Whoa Bro! This is a great goal and a great call, but the greatest Oils goal of modern era? I don't know what year your modern era starts but Marchant's goal in double OT against Dallas, game 7, 1997 was probably the best Oils and most important goal of any era . Joseph stunned the Stars long enough for Marchant to score. Stunning goal and a great call by Bob Cole.

bob cole just fine, he's the eastern canadian teams announcer, who only was doing these games cause the Oilers are the only canadian team left. CBC is kinda eastern oriented the other two guys don't even work for CBC there some shleps for other stations. bob is very calm not panicky like those other two

Oilers and Habs can trade Cups for a few years, they are the one team I wouldn't mind losing to. I'd still be sad but they imprressed me a great deal in 2006. Very knowledgable, loud and passionate with a great history. Here's to them getting back to the playoffs in 2009, it wasn't the same without them again this year.
@JohnnyCashIsGod16 жыл бұрын
maybe not next year, but hopefully sometime in the next decade. Seriously, the country would probably explode and we'd at least know that the Cup was going to an awesome hockey market. Imagine seeing 7 games where the crowd was just totally into it each and every game. Then the Habs could win in OT in game 7....LOL.
@fatherofone200613 жыл бұрын
@ryannfld i agree. Markkanen did a great job in that series, and i'm sure had they not played conklin in game 2 they just might have won it with Markkanen too. But the turning point was the injury to Roloson and what MacT did after. Conklin was horrendous that year.
@porksniffer15 жыл бұрын
Lol...Ok Ok ....Post lockout I agree for sure. Ahh.......That Marchant goal.....Stunning! The memories of that moment are priceless! As for the statue, It wasn't Hatcher as he always wore #2. One of them was Sydor, and the statue was either Ledyard or Matvichuck.

evryone stop saying the oilers wouldve won with roli.plz tel me wich game we couldve won with roli.lets look at all the games we lost.game 1,we blew a 3-0 lead,and roli let in 3goals in 10min so highly unlikly.game 2,almost imposible,and the reason is obvious.game4,markanen alrdy did awsome but i gues theres a chance.game 7,again its posible but stil unlikly.game1 chance with roli wuld be like 5-95,game2 3/97,game4 30/70,game7 like 25/75. shutup im a oil fan too, the odds are just my predictions

Is it just me or was that bum stillman finally exposed for being the garbage hockey player that he is? he feathered that puck to pisani, he deserves an assist on the play. Never really noticed how bad that play was until now.

yea you are missing atlanta and Ottowa..I think he left ottowa after 07 when they lost. hossa then went to pit and when they lost, he went to detroit and they lost..he just doesn't have any good luck..and he is a chooser. beggers cannot be choosers..good luck to him in chicago

i agree.. canada was alll behind the oilers, i STILL cant believe they didnt capitalize. now look at them. they are no doubt, a pathetic hockey club. its just sad to see. but this was clearly the best goal of the playoffs. ohh pisani, gotta love bob cole too!!

I'm a Leafs fan from Toronto, but I can watch this over and over again. It's just too bad they didn't win the whole thing. All of Canada was cheering for the Oilers, it's where the Cup belongs, and to have 50,000 happy people in Carolina versus millions of disappointed people in Canada just isn't right.
@CaptainJackRyan15 жыл бұрын
He is just like Hossa. Getting ripped off on teams that dont win stanley cups. Lol Edmonton in this series, Penguins in 08, Detroit in 09, and i probably missed some other teams

Third time wasn't a charm for Pisani. Ward stopped him on a BIG save in game 7. Ward wins the Conn Smythe and Fernando can only claim the title of most goals scored in the playoffs.

This oilers 06 playoff run was one of the greatest underdog runs. Yes, it's too bad they lost gm 7 but it was magical. Markkanen filling in for injured Roloson played amazing. 8th seeded oilers took out stanley cup champs red wings, sharks, ducks, and took canes to 7 gms. Not even an oilers fans but this run inspired me and seriously, oilers have the loudest and best fans in nhl.
