Sometimes I prefer the organ accompanying the singer, but if the singer, like him, or anyone else, has golden pipes in their bodies, and doesn’t need music, vocals, etc. then there’s big respect to that. He was phenomenal. 👍

The current singer is only following the tradition started decades ago by the long time anthem singer Paul Lorieau who was so impressed by the crowd singing along that he simply held up the mic to let them carry on. Edmonton knows how to have a great time.

I loved the great respect and class shown for both anthems by the Edmonton crowd. Several NFL players forever turned me off on their league (some years back) with their self indulgent, "look at me!" moments when taking a knee during the US anthem. Heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in that arena on Friday night - fans and players alike. Best of luck to Edmonton on Monday night!

Nothing to say about this great crowd but as a Québécois I feel ripped off every time I hear Ô Canada sung in English. Don’t you know that this French canadian patriotic anthem was composed by Basile Routhier and Calixa Lavallée for the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day in 1880. At that time Ô Canada was about Québec. This song had nothing to do with the actual Canada.
