Is it me or is Rick Allen NEVER mentioned? I understand it, and believe me, the entire band sounds fucking phenomenal. I mean just defying age awesome. But I feel Rick deserves a shout out. He’s been kicking fucking ass behind that monstrous-sounding kit with only one arm for decades, and he never let it stop him from achieving his aspirations. He’s a fucking inspiration story in itself. \m/

They tuned the song down so they could still sing it. Still did a really good job getting way up high when they needed too. Not just Joe, but all the others who sing background vocals. Pretty obvious they are all singing, no prerecorded background vocals. Good for them.

Metallica!! Def Leppard uses the Fractle Axe FX which is a digital sound that is exactly the same as the settings and Amps they used when recording that's how they do it and a lot bands do it. Trivium was the first band I personally knew about. This is why you don't see cabs or amps on stage it runs straight to the front of the house from the rack mount system. They may use a 4/12 cab in a padded road case but other than that it's all digital. Not to say they aren't actually playing it because they are. But an 80s band like you asked I have to go with Metallica

This performance here is incredible. I saw Def Leppard in concert in about 2007, and I believed Joe Elliot's voice was shot. It seemed it was time for them to hang it up. How wrong I was. He sounds better than ever these days. He must have been going through some stuff at the time, because he's definitely on top of his game now.
