Do NOT EVER use 90 degree angles on solid dump lines … Use 45’s or Y’s … keeps things flowing in the right direction … 90’s slow things down because it is a Hard Turn and that is where the Poo and Paper hang up …

Exactly, great comment! Also another thing they got incorrect is the order of operations, what you want to do is after putting all your fittings on you want to install the pipe from the sewer to the RV, NOT from the RV to the sewer, and the difference is the RV can be moved, the Sewer cannot be. So if you miscalculate the distance in piping you can just move the RV since the pipe is not yet hooked up to it, but if its hooked up to it you'll have a much harder time moving it and might break the pipe.

Hi there, great video. quick question. I have installed permanent connection to my RV to my sewer line beside the house that leads to the city line. I have installed sewer pump to pump it better, my question is, should keep the black and gray valve ON all the time, if not why not? thanks

No you keep black tank closed until it’s full or starting to stink. You can keep the grey water open though.

@@Howtofordummies.- Personally, I was taught to close the gray tanks, to help flushed out the black tank remnants, after letting that out - as well as to better flush out any food particles and such, in the gray tank, from the kitchen sink.

My RV has two dump outlets. Where can I find/buy the “gate valve bushing” to use with a 4”-3” adapter? I don’t see it on the Fernco website???

Would you recommend this for a seasonal campground and should I do any maintenance for winter on this set up when the campground is closed?
@FerncoInc

Absolutely! As for maintenance, if you keep all the parts connected as is, you should be set through the winter.

Is the white PVC pipe 3” or 4” round?

Always check your areas building code. The area I’m in you have to use all abs hard line no soft or pvc pipe fittings/adapters.

I don’t like the idea of this bushing connection when the bayonet type adapter would be much easier and probably a better connection. I also think it would be much better for flow to run like a 23° or 45° from the trailer connection point and run straight-ish towards the septic/sewer connection point rather than the long straight runs with 90s. I guess it would all depend on the specific location and rv setup. I agree with the person above, the kit idea like this isn’t really that practical when it would be much better to go to a store and buy exactly what you need for your specific setup. But hey, if you can make a bit of money on your kits, more power to you.
