Thousand Eyes references her past engagement with actor Robert Pattinson, the British tabloids and his fans were really racist towards her (similar to Meghan Markle but on a smaller scale) and that caused a rift in their relationship. Thousand Eyes can be referencing all those who wanted to see them break up.

The raw singing you hear in Cellophane is from the demo take. Twigs had just started playing the piano chords when a Lyft arrived outside the studio to pick her up. She asked the driver to give her 20-25 minutes while she laid the track down. Despite being pushed for time, Twigs was able to record an emotional vocal.

Would highly recommend going to watch The NY Times' video that they did on the making of the song 'mary magdalene' - it goes into the thought behind the production and it's super interesting.
