Hi Fern, thanks for all the videos! 🥰 Another possible idea for watering: I got a Ikea Nissafors rolling cart with all my fertilizer/supplement stuff at the bottom and a big plastic container with a wire mesh on the top that I roll around my house/next to my shelves so that I can pick the plants up and water them over the container without having to carry them to the sink or bath. For me, this is a good sweet spot between watering in place and over the sink and it saves a lot of time! 🪴🌊😊

Girl, you basically bought a mini pressure washer lol!! The noise would do me in for sure! I just have one of the hand pump ones like others have mentioned and it does the trick for me! The one thing I suggest doing is taking a cup/bottle and fill it with your Sprayer! I was shocked to see how little mine puts out at a time and it gives you a good gauge of how much your plants are getting! Loving these extra videos! 💚🌿

I have a 2-gallon pump-action sprayer, and that's WAY more than enough. It doesn't need charging, it isn't heavy, it doesn't make noise, and adjusting the spray is as simple as turning the nozzle. The hose is also longer but the wand is shorter, so the watering angle is not as difficult as the one you got. I use mine to water/fertilize and to apply plant pesticides.

@@wildfern It's a common, "woman-powered" one that would look like a downgrade compared to yours...but honestly, it does the same---without the waiting for charge, the weight, or the noises. I even use it to clean the bathroom and windows! Look for "2-gallon pump sprayer". Mine is "D.B. Smith Contractor 190216 2-Gallon Sprayer for Weed Killers, Herbicides, and Insecticides" and it comes with a strap to carry it across your body, but if the strap is not necessary, any of these brands make pump reliable pump sprayers that lend themselves beautifully to plant maintenance: Scotts, Chapin, Ortho, Husqvarna, Black and Decker.

I have a hand-pumped sprayer like your blue one. Be careful not to pull at the tubing coming out of the tank (you know, like one does with a vacuum cleaner!) because it will break the seal and pressure will be lost. I'm loving "Fern week", what a treat!

Who ever thought planty people, needed so many things to keep their plants Happy? I have taken so many plant tips from you. You have great ideas. I also bought on-line, Molly's Succulent and Cactus mix potting mix for all my small Hoya Carnosa Compacta's, plus my Thanksgiving and Easter cactus, plus almost all the succulents and cactus I have purchased from Crystal Star Nursery. Which I didn't know about until I heard you mention them, have gotten 2 orders of plants now from them. You are such a wealth of information, because you live in Canada. I'm not sure if you live on the Island or Vancouver Area, but my husband, myself and Our kids, plus Grandchildren, were all born and raised on Vancouver Island, In Sidney B.C. We are so blessed this week with the daily chores vlogs. Love it! I'm watching while working. Just in case you don't get used to the sprayer, or don't find appropriate "nozzles", I'm sharing the technique I have developed over the last year. I''m using a set of container + colander (currently Ikea LILLHAVET Dish bowl & LILLHAVET Colander) that I carry around and put plants in to water and leave there to drip.. This way I don't have to walk back & forth to the kitchen or bathroom and I can reuse the water in the container for bottom watering, or to reuse the fertilizer, etc.

I bet the poles will vary with how many holes they need depending on their location and how fast they drink. I think it’s a great idea to start with a less and add as you go. Thank goodness for you and this week of plants! I’ve gotten so much done yesterday and today with you! Can’t wait for tomorrow! 🎉❤ 24:53 I love the idea of the sprayer, especially for big indoor plants. I’ve seen others use them too, however the water pressure seems easier to control. I bet that a non electric one is easier to control as far as letting the water come out because I’ve never seen an electric one used until now! The noise also would kill me, I’d take the manual over that any day 😂😂

I use a garden hose that i connect to the facet in the kitchen/bathroom which is so convenient! Yes I use the large one which I find very convenient. I have 2 of the automatic mister sprayers and one kept breaking down so I have to return it. Other one isn’t as powerful but maybe I need to fully charge. Regarding fertilizer water depending on what uou use I’ve learned that after days the fertilizer water “expires” For the large one I do find that I have some issues watering smaller Hoyas so I use the lab wash bottles for those or a bring a big tray / bin and carry 6-9 to sink at a time. Love the moss pole hack. I am not a huge fan of poles but I do have a few moss poles and can never keep them damp. I don’t kkk no ow about you but all my plants get entangled and I end up knocking over plants and semi hydro goes everywhere especially when watering !!!

Hey boo, I use something similar for watering and the lack of a bent nozzle does make it more difficult to get plants that are higher. I just put a towel down in front of my cabinet and set my higher plants down on the towel and water them on the floor then just put them back. A bit more work, but it’s honestly quicker. Just wanted to share a tip that has worked for me! Love your content! 💚

I use 5 litre pump action sprayer and its handy to carry around watering my plants without it being too heavy on my shoulders. It was very affordable and definitely is less noisy so I do prefer that. I removed something from the spout so now the water comes out through one hole and less stronger so it helps me so so much, as nothing is being sprayed sort of aggressively and I am not getting fertiliser water onto my wallpapers and glass😊

I bought a big sprayer a few weeks ago (it was a white one on Amazon Canada) and I love it. It doesn’t have different pressure settings so if you water from too high up it kind of mists the surrounding area (kind of annoying if indoors). It has one button to power on. and if you want a more direct sprayer or a mist you just twist the tip of the nozzle and it changes. Mine also makes a noise to, but it’s more like a motorized sound if that makes any sense. It can leak if everything isn’t screwed in properly and if there’s still water pulled up and remaining in the long nozzle part so I just store the nozzle upright. The nozzle is angled and extends as well. So much faster to mist my moss poles as well. The pros definitely outweigh the cons though and I feel so professional when I use it. Like the feeling you get when holding a clipboard, or having lots of keys on a coiled arm band at work…like damn that person must be important 😂

I’ve always wondered if a sprayer like that would work for me. I think if you can find a way to make it work for you, then it would be a massive time saver, especially with a collection of your size. I only learned how to keep plants thriving by watering the plant through so I would always question if I watered thoroughly if I used a sprayer. On the flip side, I would then worry if I would overwater plants if I didn’t empty out the drainage trays. Cause why not worry about all possible outcomes haha. My brain might not be good at much, but worrying…..I got that one covered 😂. Can’t wait for day 3 of plant chores!

I get frustrated bringing my plants to the sink as well, and I've been doing a little hybrid action these days. I started using a rectangular mop bucket with one of those roll up dish drainers on top (the kind with stainless steel tubes). This lets me just plop plants on top and completely flush them sort of in place (at least, near the shelf), drain and put them back without having to walk around TOO much. Kind of like a cheapo plant a potty. The bucket is collapsible too, so it tucks away in a small space when I'm not using it. Saves me a ton of time!

Ohh my goddd that noise... I am watering all my cacti with a spray like you have but without battery, this for a few years now. It makes no noise (thank goodness) and its much more controllable. All of my other plants i bottem water them. So i start putting them in a big container let them sit there for a while, during this time i have time to do other plant chores. I found a rotation now that goes very smoothly. I put the container near to where my plants are so i don't have to keep going back and forth. When i put the plants in the container i can check them for pests. I hope you can put that noise out, it would drive me crazy ... Even though your watering goes much faster now if you get the hand of it. Grtz from Belgium 🥰😍🤩
