Carpet is something I know not to try and do, so I don't. Years ago there was a guy who was a mute and did amazing work for very reasonable prices. He would "tell" you all about the installation making sounds and motions. The guy was great. He's been long gone now... Anyway, from this vantage point your carpet looks great and you're not even a mute!

Nice progress Lou. That electrical cutoff switch (while practical) is 100% for sure not from factory. In fact you can see that it had been bypassed anyways. Seeing as you already made the hole you can start using it although I would buy a new one just to be sure. They are cheap and yours seems to be missing the key.

"they do need some work" like every other single piece on the car lol. That's what you face when restoring old cars. One thing I've noticed lately whenever I go to do something, ANYTHING, there's about 10 things that I have to do before I can do the thing that I have to do! lol

8:00 good man! I learned from an upholsterer years ago to do half at a time, NOT the whole thing...then you position it and once you have it all lined up and secure do the other half. You have infinite more control that way during positioning. I've used that for leather, when putting down lino floors, everything.....

The thing about hot glue? When you get some on your finger build up some spit in your mouth and stick it in real quick....or keep a glass of water handy.....it cools it down almost immediately.

Oh Lou I was freaking out as you were gluing the passenger footwell. I have a 308gt4 and all the relays are in compartment behind there. I looked up there they were on the dash panel- ugh you gts / gtb guys have it easy.

Just an off the wall comment/tip: that hood release? Reminded me: if you ever have a piece that is supposed to be chrome and it all peeled off. Have you ever tried Krylon chrome spray paint? I've used it a couple of times now and while it isn't as good as sending the part off to be electro plated, for say something like vent pulls in the foot well, a cigarette lighter knob it is perfectly acceptable. I was actually skeptical when I bought and was pleasantly surprised. I'd think it would work great on screw heads, bolts and stuff like that that aren't as important as say the horn ring on your classic chevelle.....
