You seem very meticulous about painting the air box red but not very careful about installing the wheels on the correct side. I believe the air box looks better in texture black as the original.

A few things I forgot: If you find a great car, get a pre purchase inspection (PPI) from someone who knows Ferraris. With the price of parts and service being what they are, you don't want to find problems after you own it. Also shop around for insurance. As a collector car rates are surprisingly low, but I got very different quotes from Hagerty and Grundy (Grundy was better for me).

Are the ferrari 348's cheaper to maintain than the 355's. I keep getting different answers. I know the 355 can have mind boggling expenses

Food Stamp Champ Yes! First is the 355's tendency to need new valve guides and headers for $$$$, and then there's the fact that there is just more systems there to fail. They have adjustable suspension, power steering, power top on the spider. If you read the 355/348 section on Ferrarichat you'll find the 355 problem threads way outnumber the 348 problem threads. So, with a 355 you get more content and more power and a sweet sounding engine, but it comes at a cost

Hmmm, Jags vs Ferraris. An E type Jag probably has a higher cool factor than and 348, but the 348 is probably more fun to drive and more reliable. Parts prices I'm guessing worse for the F-car.

Since you put 355 door panels on a 348, could you put 348 door panels on a 355?

James M. Absolutely. The shape of the panels is exactly the same. The mounting brackets are slightly different, but easily worked around.

F1 Exhaust note. Enough said. The Ferrari 348 is the single Biggest Bang for the Buck in Ferrari and exotic sports cars. Wait till you have an electrical gremlin with the 296. In Ferrari sports cars. Jeremy Clarkson declared the 355 “the greatest car in the world, ever.” But Less is More with the completely analog 348 as it doesn’t have the brass valve guide and/or electronic suspension issues the 355 has. Older is Easier as the 348 is the best “purely analog” Ferrari ever made according to Hoovies Garage, the Smoking Tire, Jay Emm, etc as the 348 comes without modern day features that actually detract from the experience of driving a Ferrari. Why drive a “fast” car “slow” when you can drive a slower car fast? Lastly, the 348’s 8,500 rpm flat plane crank shaft generates an Formula 1 exhaust note as F1 cars also use flat plane cranks to lower their center of gravity.

F355 is more expensive than 348...but very more nice to drive ..and fiabiity is better...maintenance more easy.in two years if use...355 ils less expensive !! Now its more smart to buy a testarossa than a 348 .value of testa will be increase 2 time in few time ...348 cant gain a lot of value

Being a Ferrari owner, I cringe at the thought of changing the bodywork on a Ferrari. I will say it looks the part, nevertheless, the value of your 348 has just dropped...a lot. Each to their own I guess. Why not just buy a 355 ? 348's and 355's are both difficult cars to maintain and repair. The 355 would (in my opinion only) be most likely the most inexpensive, expensive Ferrari to maintain. In that I mean: they are relatively cheap to purchase, and extremely expensive to maintain. Unless you have a large bank account, stay clear of them. Nice car however...Thanks for the video, respect intended.

The body work is bolt on, bolt off, so no big deal, plus plan on being buried in car so value not important. 355 are maintenance nightmares. SO many more systems that can fail: valve guide, headers, adjustable suspension, power steering, power convertible top. Would go for a 360 before taking on a 355.

@@sonordrum1000miura I agree totally, if resale is no option, then no probs. It dose look very nice. I do not wish to part with my baby either. Sadly in Australia you can't be buried in a vehicle. So I'm gonna drive the hell out of it ! Going to your grave with a Ferrari with 30k miles on it should be a crime...Yes, 360 over a 355 all day long. Knew a lady who got a major service on her 355 a couple of years ago...$11,000 AU...just crazy.

MrStoneycool69 From a purely analytical stand point, you are correct, and a corvette would probably beat them all. From an illogical passion stand point, there's just something about Italian cars, be it a Fiat, alfa, Maserati, Lamborghini, or especially a Ferrari. It's like a beautiful woman : your heart skips a beat every time you walk into the garage. I guess it's a mental illness. An NSX driving down the street makes you think "nice car", but Ferrari or Lambo, or even a old Fiat makes me say "wow". The design, the spirit, the romance, the history...
