I have been a master mechanic for over 20 years, and I really enjoy working on these vehicles. They are incredibly easy to work on and have a very simple design. AUDI on the other hand is a total nightmare.

sonesthrow420: How difficult is the belt service, I heard it can be done on eh 360 without engine removal. Also, what is the service interval for the F1 transmission clutch, and how difficult is job is that for an owner to do themself? I'm up to doing any service task, but being inefficient (not a master mech) at some point the hours involved turn it into NOT being a fun hobby .. this is why I am asking these questions, I want to do the work myself, but only if it will be a sensible amount of hours.

Crazy that car is almost 20 years old.....instantly was my favorite "unattainable" car when I first saw it. The design is so clean it's timeless. Compare it to the cars 20 years before it's time... imo Koenigsegg is a modern equivalent to the 360's design.

Very tasteful mods, love it! I feel like you just opened my eyes to wonders of modding a Ferrari. I had always scoffed at anything not factory stock and Ferrari certified, but now that I'm fairly close to actually owning one these are definitely some things I will do. This was also my poster car as a kid, I can't imagine what it'd be like to own. Thanks for helping me realize that it's still just a car and I shouldnt be afraid to make it my own.

Thanks! There are a lot of enthusiasts that want their Ferrari stock. In that case you can always just save the parts and restore it when you sell it. However if it's your car and you're going to keep it, you can do whatever you want with it . :)

What’s crazy is that the 360 has the same dimensions as a Testarossa with the exception of it’s height. The 360 sits at 49” tall and the Testarossa is 44.5” tall. The Testarossa was always considered a big car for it’s day especially it’s width and always looks bigger than it actually is in photos. I’d love to see a photo of a 308/328, Testarossa, F40, 355, 360, F430, 458 and 488 side by side so you could see the size comparison of each.

Love the quilted roof liner. The 430 wheels are great but I have no issues with the OEM either. Ferrari knew what they were doing with this car.

One common problem with the 360 is with the roof liner failing apart. That is why I was forced to change it.

I love the mods you did. Challenge rear grill is a must. The 19's really do bring it up to date in a very subtle way. Carbon interior trim and yellow tach are icing on the cake! Nicely done

Clutch is 4k, oil change $500, belts and hoses around $3,500. It's not just miles based, but time. So not driving it means you're still ponying up. It is a fantastic car, had mine for three + years. Tubi exhaust added and it made it growl. Problems; buttons and dials are covered with rubber material that literally just melts off and becomes tar. Challenge grill can be removed and powder coated--looked great afterwards. Also, egg cartons up front, the vents, can be changed to wire--loos much better. Also, many of the metal parts in the engine can be polished--I did and it was awesome. Member of F-Chat.

Major service (every 3-5 years), clutch, and some regular maintenance according to reliable owners in Ferrari forums will add up to about 3-5 grand A YEAR on average. That is if nothing substantial happens, than it can easily be 5 digits. Wouldnt call any super car "budget car". It is always the maintenance that bites you in the ass, exactly because looking at sticker price you think, oh I can afford this- until you cant.

oil change is less than $200, all other fluids under $200 together, clutch is under 3k and lasts 10-15k, timing belts are about $500. this car is cheaper and easier to maintain than a modern BMW.

Max Meir it does not cost $3-5k a year. You don't need to do the clutch and timing service every year. The timing service is every 3-5 years.

The Ferrari 360 One the last true Ferraris ever made and one of the best cars in history. The 360 is pure legend, balanced power, immaculate design, perfect connection between machine and driver. A car for the ages forever that will never age and will always be more admired. Pure, raw cars like this don't exist anymore. No one knows how to make them anymore, not is there courage to look back and understand that less is more. Cars have all now become computer consoles clones of each other. There are no more unique and simple forms or beauty that exists in just simplicity. Today is all about outrageous (and forgettable) shapes outside, all (insipid) screens inside and driving experiences where the car is actually doing what the drivers used to do. After the 360 and F430, Ferrari lost what made them so unique. All cars now are environmently friendly, boring, technically "perfect" plastic with no soul and the trend gets worse. I was a child when I first saw a 360. Now that I am not a child anymore, this car is more modern, groundbreaking and unique than it was whenI first saw one in 1999. Perfection is forever.

But yes the 360 is a great representation of the transition they made from the 80s/90s squares/angular bodies with repressed headlights into the 00s with the curvy/natural lines n open headlights. Nice video! I've owned my 2000 360 coupe for 6 yrs and still absolutely love it! I've done all the mods you performed and more (I put Stradale wheels on mine). I'm planning to do a factory Stradale body kit next year. I've driven 430's and owned a late model Gallardo and also currently also own a 997 turbo. But the 360 really is (as you say) special. By the way, I've done a lot of maintenance and it really is not bad. You really can do much of the work yourself and major work like belts, clutch, etc. take it to a dealer.

Edit: If you haven’t already, you should check out Normal Guy Supercar. He [HAD] a 430 and just sold it and got a 458 but he does all the work himself. His buddy has a 360 Spyder and recently replaced the headers and exhaust. It sounds sooooo sick. The stock muffler really makes it sound tame. But with the new exhaust system, dude. It sounds fierce! Love the F430 wheels but my local ferrari guy told Me I can’t put bigger than the original 18’s, he said it would mess up the ABS. But of course I’ve seen scores of 360s with bigger than 18s..have you had any issues ?

Subscriber here! When people say the maintenance is high on Ferrari or Audi, aren't they just mad because they couldn't predict when there car would break down? Which boggles the mind when you realize you can predict any fault the car will have if you just pay attention to the car. So far this is the very reason they don't like german cars or Farrari because they cant be bothered to do a google search... You can zero in on any potential problem as long as you pay attention to your vehicle, am I right?
