I have mine for 9 years now.Raced it,drove it 60K kms until now,been in multiple track days and every time i hit the turns,i have the same feeling.You can feel the road and all the vibrations and sound of the car.From my experience,DO NOT skip oil changes and belts,they are fairely cheap,and since you can do it yourself there is no point skiping the timeline from Ferrari.Also,spark plugs can help from time to time.The main ''problems'' with the car are the engine and gearbox mounts.You can spot the failure easy.Engine mounts,the car is shaking a little bit more and gearbox mount,the exhust tips sit lower on their spot in the bumper. To add to the experience,you can put a pair of K&N free flow air filters and get that sucking-air sound from the intake like an old carburated engine.If you dont want to spend much money on an exhaust just unplug the air line from the exhaust valves so they are open all the time.For sure put the challenge back grill.It helps with the temps and also it kinda protects your alternator and AC compressor by lowering the temps in the engine bay.Those two seat just next to the manifolds and are prone to failure from heat sink.In addition you must put Michelin pilot super sports if you can find them,although the fronts must be a little larger than the factory dimensions.They transformed my car in all performance aspects.Never use Pirellis in that car.And last,do not fear the F1 as a system.If the pump fails,Alfa Romeo sells the exact same part for the selespeed cars and costs brand new around 200 dolars.The F1 oil lines are just lines that can reach 200bars and any machine shop can fabricate at a fraction of the cost.If you have any questions just ask!
@myferrari36033 жыл бұрын
There is so much valuable information in your comment. Thank you for taking the time to send it. I plan to keep up with the oil and belt changes just like you said. I do miss my old 1966 Chevy from high school and the sucking air of the four valve carburetor. Great tip about the Alfa F1 system being the same.
@sergiogalfas3603 жыл бұрын
@@myferrari3603 Here in Greece(and in Europe in general)the Ferrari F1 pump costs 2500 euros,roughly 2800 dollars.The Alfa part from the dealership brand new costed 180 euros,so 210 dollars.There are also improved F1 pumps based on the Alfa part that have extra fins for cooling,like the head of a 2-stroke engine but since mine had lasted 55K Kms with 50% used on race button on,I didn’t bother trying a tweaked part.The main reason the F1 pump fails is that the relay stays open so the pump keeps on pumping(you will hear the noise if that happens)and overheats and fails.If something like that happens,turn off the car immediately,and press the kill switch next to your left knee.Then maybe you can get away with only a relay.The original Ferrari costs 85 euros BUT it is the same relay that BMW uses in their abs system and costs only 3 euros from the dealership brand new!

My two years of owning an 360 F1 was much like yours. I’m still glad you bought one to really get the full experience the good, meh and bad. I spent about a decade looking for one and got one and was surprised like you about a lot of the things you brought up. I’ve done two Mercedes transmission overhaul’s successfully in my one car garage and the 360 wasn’t too bad to work on either. I wish the Dr S manual conversion kit was available when I owned (just 13k for the kit) as I would have done it and kept the car a bit longer. A lot of these guys giving you a bit of negative vibes never have owned one. I sold my 360 after 2?years and got a 1969 Camaro. I’m glad I got a Ferrari and now it’s outta my system for now:). I also own a Subaru Ascent ( tows my boat too). Awesome review and keep rocking.

As a fellow 360 owner, I’d agree with most of what you said…other than the comparisons to your 2018 Subaru, which I think is too different in age and purpose to make any comparisons in technology or creature comforts. That’s why the 360 is best for occasional use not a daily driver.

Once again thank you for your videos. We’ve had our 360 now for three years. This particular video is spot on ownership. I wish I had the talent and patience to video the things that I do on my cars. I have an F1 also and the Oil to water separator for the F1gearbox failed and it has to be replaced. The parts alone from SCUDERIA we’re over a thousand dollars and the prices were close to couple thousand lower than anybody else. BTW they are all Ferrari parts. While you’re in there you might as well replace a lot of parts, like belts, thermostat and so forth and so on. One of my biggest concerns is flushing the coolant system since it is compromised with gearbox oil. Just as much is the gearbox has to be flushed out of all the coolant liquid. Anyway once again thank you for all your videos and your honesty. Have a great day!

Do it, Hansel! Before they get expensive again..A decent 360 can be had for upper 5-figures, which is what any reasonably fast car costs. I think of it this way: the same $60-90,000 will get a limited number of cars in the ~400hp/~3200lb curb weight sweet spot, particularly if you want a manual. You can have a new Lotus Evora, Porsche Cayman GT4/Boxster Spyder, the new 'Vette (base model), maybe the new 400Z. Or, a 10yr old R8, maybe an Aston Vantage/DB9...or a 20yr old Ferrari. These cars all do about the same thing, with differences in feel, engine type, and new car gadgets. The funny thing about exotic marques is, they don't get driven, so all these options I mentioned end up with about the same mileage on them..

I am absolutely astonished that you did zero research before buying a Ferrari - “I really didn’t know what to expect, I just knew I wanted a Ferrari” … really? The mind boggles. If I were you, I would stick to Subaru’s mate

Yep. I had more money than brains. At the time I was in a bad place in life and needed something to feel better. I didn't even do a proper PPI. I got lucky and am very happy with my purchase. Thanks for watching and your comment.

@@myferrari3603 Well, my friend, you probably didn't do too bad. I've come to think of the 360 as sort of the F-14 Tomcat of Ferraris: It's as much 'last of the old school' as it is first of the new. New aluminum chassis, electronic stability and engine management (and the autoclutch transmission in yours), and much more maintenance-friendly than the 355 and older. Ferrari, I suspect, learned from the Honda NSX and built a more usable car. But..it's also still more metal & leather than plastic, curvy and analog, and has a (Ferrari's last) steering wheel uncluttered by buttons and dials. And of course a manual shiftgate can still be had.. The upshot is, I think these were at the nadir of their market value and will be going back up into six-figures soon, and they seem to be. Especially the manuals.. Incidentally, I found one just like yours, about a month before COVID descended. Yellow with black interior and the Challenge grille...but I did find the open shiftgate (!) Don't hate me. By the by...I had to replace the whole damned transmission a few months after taking possession. The whole transaxle had seized while putting the car through it's smogging routine. I'm convinced that it's just because the car sat still for a year at the dealer that I rescued it from...the advice to drive your car, and avoid the temptation to baby it in the garage, is on point. These things need driven, like the thoroughbred pony on the logo. And be sure to give it some proper revs; gotta warm that oil get it into all the little spaces.

Your paying too much for Insurance. I pay about $700 a year for full coverage for agreed value of 75k in Florida for my 360 Modena. SafeCo a Liberty Mutual subsidiary, that insures exotics.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I currently pay $142. I called SafeCo today and was quoted $213. Don't know why. It might be a Utah thing. But thanks again for letting me know of their existence.

I consider the 360 to be Ferrari's answer to the NSX...and I had a high school friend who was going to sell me a yellow Acura with targa top (for $35,000..about 10 years ago...ohhhh, if I only had money then). So now I had to get a yellow 360 instead.

Bro I’m sorry but you sound like you shouldn’t own this car. There is ALOT to exotic cars, especially once you looking back 10 to 20 years. The fact that you didn’t know what the f1 transmission was show your ignorant to Ferraris in general. And the tech gripes are dumb, these cars are about experience, sound, feel. Infact more and more people are buying older Ferraris, Porsches etc for that very aspect, things like naturally aspirated engines, manual transmissions etc. The 360 is an awesome machine, and if cared for should last a while. Ferrari engines are near bullet proof accept for some small issues and bad model years. The f1 transmission will need clutch work every 12 to 15 thousand miles expect it. But you should research what you’re getting into. Again things like not knowing it was aluminum, the f1 transmission, etc etc shows peeps how ignorant you are to these machines. Remember, a Ferrari is not a car, it’s experience, and it’s a collectible. If you think of it as a car it makes no sense. So enjoy the deep dive nerd world of really getting to know your Ferrari. And it blows my mind you bought it without doing this research before hand lol
