I reviewed a Ferrari 812 Superfast with the Novitec exhaust. It was such a crazy car and sounded like V12 heaven! The owner of the car accelerated it and did up to 93 mph on a regular road. It was the best-sounding car I have ever heard and it was my most viewed KZbin video with about 4.3K views.

Honestly the depreciation from the SF90 will scare you more than the GTS in the long term. And if I’m looking for hybrid V8 with plenty usability I’d wait for the Purosangue

The noise combined with design, usability and performance makes this car my favorite car in the world. My spec would be rosso mugello or rosso fiorano exterior with black rims, carbon fiber accessories and crema interior.

My GTS arriving “soon”’will be Rosso Maranello with crema interior and red detailing and carbon interior. I’ve skipped the exterior carbon as it really is a case of all or none and my car was already nudging £360k thanks to the £19k for the paint.

The sound of the 812 as well as its presence is something else. One of the few Ferrarri's that have retained some of that old Ferrari magic in terms of styling.

That car is gorgeous and it sounds like a symphony! Maybe you could ask your friend if he is willing to sell :) Depreciation has always been painful especially in high value assets like Ferraris but it feels like as the world moves to full electrification that cars like this will actually hold their value. More so certainly than they did in the past since depreciation was in part driven by there always being some newer/better gas variant coming along. As things get back to “normal” the demand for gas powered cars should keep prices up. As fewer and fewer gas cars are available to purchase from new it is likely going to push back on any kind of depreciation curve.

Everything you said makes sense, but for us subscribers who don't have to worry about cost & depreciation - I've been hoping to see an 812 Shmeemobile more than anything. I'm sure the SF is awesome but for me a front mid V12 is the ultimate Ferrari. When that GTS arrived at the Shmuseum I couldn't wait to see it on the road, so thanks Tim, that Novitek exhaust is madness! Even the weather was perfect (for January) edit/ I watched Chris Harris track a Competizione, it was nuts but, as a road car, much prefer the GTS.

Yes you need to get another V12 Ferrari and the 812 GTS is probably the best one today. It is certainly more usable and comfortable than any of their mid-engines V8 cars.

I scrambled for a GTS allocation as the order book was closing, I had a Ferrari V12 itch to scratch. Mine will be in Rosso Maranello. The V12 depreciation is something of a mystery as to why, maybe the fear of higher maintenance costs in the same way LaFerrari’s are rarely driven because of the £140k battery replacement cost. I hope the GTS will be better being the first of a series production kind for a long time. Time will tell!

Hi Shmee! I have a technical remark about the last couple of video's. I appreciate that your team are trying better options to mic you during recordings. But I have to say that this lavalier microphone you guys are using doesn't sound all that good. You are missing a lot of high end frequencies so it sounds a bit dull. I don't know if this dull sound is caused by either the quality of the mic, the processing, recording devices or mic placement (might me a combination of those). Just noticing this on multiple playback devices, mobile, laptop on user entry level headphones and studio monitors as well. Nevertheless, really enjoying your content and once again great video!

I drove a 458 a few years back now but when I drove it for me it wasn't actually that fun, it did everything as you would expect.. absolutely unreal to drive and how it took corners was insane but it didn't feel like an event to be in.. took the gallardo superleggera 570 out and wow that was fun! Heavy steering, n/a banshee v10 behind and just felt so good! It wasn't faster but it was fun. That's when I realised Modern Ferrari are over hyped and I'd been turning my nose up at lambo a little too much😂

Ferrari only seems to be great when it comes to the special more limited version like 458 Speciale. 458 is hyped so much because its very beautiful (pinnacle of Ferrari's, or to be more specific Pininfarina's design) and its the last NA V8.

That tunnel run sounds like Paul Wallace's Murcielago when it had the SB Race exhaust system on it. He drove through the Hatfield tunnel and his jaw dropped

If I could afford to buy those cars, I would definitely get a Ferrari 812 GTS and keep it for the museum, because with the future being all about hybrid or 100% electric, I doubt we will see much V12 and therefore the 812 GTS would be one of the last V12… so I would have one even if I would already have a SF90 which would be one of the first Ferrari hybrid car; so it would mark the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.

People who own these cars but barely use them, they must have an incredible amount of self restraint. Because if there was ever a car that makes you want to drive it for long periods on a regular basis, it's the 812 (even in standard form). The temptation and want to drive it would be over bearing for me and surely any or every Ferrari fan who buys one??? Mind you, maybe the people who own them have a number of other insane cars to drive, or even own various other V12 Ferrari's?? But like Tim mentioned, the 812 SF and GTS were never limited, so not rare like other cars that are/were limited to say 500 units.

I can't help but think that you'll have the SF90, sure, but you'll always have the desire for the 812 regardless. There is no substitute for a V12. If you got the 812, I'm pretty damn sure that would be a forever car, knowing how much you've hankered for one... And waiting for a V12 Ferrari to become cheap when V12's are a dying breed, is possibly the daftest thing I've heard you say!
