@@frankgile1996 Well yes it is a different car, but you can clearly see them take design elements from the F40 and make them more smooth and less angular, like the big rear spoiler and the line around the car. They changed the line to a slight angle to make it more dynamic. It was a new design, but the design lineage is pretty clear. Therefore I think it works better as a redesign than this one, which feels odd in places, especially the roof line and the back side. The f50 has a similar back side to the f40, but more rounded and refined. I love the f40, it will always be my favorite (had a huge poster of it over my bed as a kid) but this redesign does not really work for me.

More smooth only in appearance. In fact, F50 is, still today, the only road car directly derived from Formula One. His engine is a real F1 V12 (the one used in the Ferrari 640, driven by Nigel Mansell and Gerhard Berger in 1989 championship).

As I have read, the difference bwteewn the two cars was that the F-50 was /is more civilized. The 40 was made in a hurry and was/is just a track ready car that was barely legal to drive on the street. The 50 was built as a road car that was almost track ready.

@@DefinitelyNotEmma Well, EB110 was not really beautiful (original protype by Marcello Gandini looks much better) but Centodieci is absurd, as if it was made by 18 yo guy with fresh papers and brain of child. It looks so bad that even production EB110 looks beautiful when being compared to it. That's why I say that it looks like riced Golf. And Huracán cannot be riced R8. R8 started as tamed down knock-off of Gallardo and continued as knock-off of Huracán. 2003 - Lamborghini Gallardo 2006 - Audi R8, Type 42 (and NfS Carbon with main antagonist owning its prototype…) 2014 - Lamborghini Huracán 2015 - Audi R8, Type 4S 🙂

@@kundasemkundatam7461 the thing is, you say the design of the Centodieci is riced, it lacks the elegance of the Chiron I guess. But as I said by that logic every Lamborghini is a riced VW/Audi. Unlike the R8 they lack any subtlety or elegance, they're loud and vulgar which is the point of a Lamborghini. Same goes for the the Centodieci, it's also shouty and controversial. Like all Lamborghinis it's not meant to be beautiful nor subtle or mature, it's meant to stand out, in a good or bad way. If you own a Centodieci/Lamborghini you want everybody to know it, which is easily achievable when they look so messy as they do. Whereas cars like an R8, 911 or DB11 blend easier on, they're the ultimate understatement, very subtle and mature.

Honestly can't fault this redesign, love it, just love it! Even the controversial diffuser and pipes, I really think these are so modern that they add at least 60% to the 'modern look' of the car.

The F40 was and is the only Ferrari I like, I was never a huge fan of Italian cars especially newer ones. But cars like the F40, Miura or Gallardo have a certain beauty in their simplicity.

I like the newer Ferraris a lot though they had a bland time around the "Maranello, 360 Modena and 430 scuderia" period. The newest ones look really beautiful to me. Especially the GTC4 Lusso, the 488, the SF90 Stradale and I even like the F8 Biturbo a lot. The only new Lambo that I really find beautiful is the Huracan. The rest is either overstyled or just weird. They are cool cars but not beautiful.

I'm sure you've seen it, but Samir Sadikhov made a render in 2017 which does a REALLY good job of picking up modern Ferrari design elements and combining them with the original F40 design. It's nice. However, I have several observations you could've done: the graphics for a modern F40 side vents already exist in the Ferrari 488, which happens to be a Twin Turbo V8 car just like the F40. The beginning of the rear tail can be integrated into the edge of such side vent and the lines for the bottom of the car could've been parallel to the tail to emphazise the wedges of the F40. Other than that, it's a nice redesign.

Everything is interesting for a new look. I like to more dynamic like 458, 488, f8, sf90 and also new design rims. I love that last output and it's totally awesome. A bigger rim than before, dynamic windows, front and rear lower design, red light, new door design everything is awesome and really love the redesign.

I dunno... everything seems fine but there is still something about the rear that bugs me. I think it's the tail lights and the big black shroud in which they're placed. I think the tail lights would look better if they were placed higher like in modern Ferraris and the shroud removed altogether or at least altered to make it look like it belongs in 2020. The wing would still give away that it is undoubtably an F40. Splitter kind of looks out of place but I thunk that's because of how awkwardly the tail lights and surrounding graphics are wedged in there. It's a mixed bag of ultra modern and retro 80's. And maybe that's ultimately what you were going for but I didn't find it too visually applealing.

I have to say it looked great before you put the rear diffuser on there. That doesn't really jive with the rest of the car's design too well IMO. Maybe something a bit more subtle like the side skirts or front lip would work better?

As a charter member of the "F40 is the GOAT" club, I really do like this update. I think that with the changes you made to the rest of the car it would have been okay to soften the very rectangular wing and taillight section. Perhaps made a slight nod to the F50. But overall great job updating the GOAT!

I think it´s a great project, the couple of things that I would touch on the redesign are; The hip line I would it made it more pronounced, also the rear wing 75 degree and for last, in the backside maybe more organic as the rest of the intervention. Never the less is the greatest redesign of the F40 that I´ve seen.

Going through your channel so commenting on them, you really want more design consistency when modernizing these cars. For example, the rear tailight box is still boxy when you've made the C and A-pillars swoopy. The boxy tail doesn't match the diffuser at all, and never thought the black diffusers looked cool anyways.

I like the what you did in the middle portion of the car 100%, I feel like that little badge doesnt have a place in modern cars tho... Im not a big fan of the back portion but the modern lights are a feature that looks awesome.. and lastly I think the ride height is ever so slightly high.. He took an enormous risk, but in the end it turned out a great job respecting the original car, which a lot of people defines as "The Ferrari" or "The Car". In the F40 everything was made only to be functional: air intakes was NACA profiles proved to be the best option for performance and I'm sure central exhausts had a technical advantage too

Marouane, you totally transformed it and it looks great! The only constructive feedback I would give is that the proportions of the new rear diffuser don't look right to me; it's too high and/or too large, especially in comparison to the original bumper design. Secondly, the rear, particularly the spoiler, is very square and doesn't blend well with the rest of the body. Other than that, job well done. I especially love the new side intakes!

With the amount of curves added to this redesign it becomes closer to that of an 2020 F50 instead of a 2020 F40. (It's like trying to make a Delorean not flat, it's what makes it ... it, in terms of recognizable design)

Overall, I really loved what you did. Two things: I agree with some of the other posters that it would have been nice to see you come up with a different design for a central exhaust. I also think you could have spent some time making an updated version of the louvered rear "window."

Ferrari F40 was so much ahead of its time that even if the original design untouched and the under skin technology gets upgraded will do the job.

Love this design update, except I would have not made the lower side air intake like that- treat it more like a vertical vent to feed air to the rear tires/brakes.

the side could be nice but the combination of that rear diffuser versus that wing ... I don't know. Another thing that bothers me is that red chunk of bodywork between the diffuser and the rear dark mesh housing the tail lights, I would've make that area narrower, thus the back of the car would have a darker appearence. And yes, I would've kept the original middle exhaust pipes aswell. It's very tricky to mess with the rear of the F40 since it's so soooo 80's and that wing HAS to stay as it is and I appreciate that you haven't messed with it, but adding something bellow is a real challenge, you may go for a wilder diffuser, smth race inspired with sharp edges that would go along with that square wing that we all love :)
