Fast becoming one of the standout automotive review channels on YT. Great work James, you have arrived as one of the best voices in the industry, a testament to your persistent hard work (that you make look so smooth and easy nowadays; a deceptive skill because it isn't). The best compliment I think I can give you, and what really marks you out, is that it feels like I have spent time in person with the cars you review, and got to know them as if I was there. With your background it is no surprise, I guess, that your videos are extremely well produced, but still first and forefront, always, are the car and insightful commentary. There is such a wealth of considered and valuable information in every review. You are truly an example to any filmmaker that it is possible to produce superior content independently, and I certainly never scroll past a new upload without gladly clicking on it. James, I never leave comments but felt compelled to drop you a line. I grew up in the ’60s, so far older than either you or you're normal demographic; like many American kids, I read Road & Track and Car & Driver. I knew every spec. of the exotics of the period & each autos pros & cons according to the press of the period. My father headed Pennsylvania’s largest corporation at the time. Through my enthusiasm, seeming knowledge garnered from the auto reviews and pleading, I managed to talk my father into purchasing a ’64 Lusso that he used as a daily driver, a ‘66 275 GTB4 (my favorite of all Ferrari’s of the period, perhaps of all time), and a Miura that spent more time in the shop than it did on the road. I remember him telling me “How you talked me into buying this piece of “shi… I do not know, but it costs $1,500 in repairs to drive 500 miles” (referring to the Miura-only a slight exaggeration). For your younger audience, each of these automobiles during the period ranged in price from $16,000 to $18,500 USD new off the showroom floor, a Rolls Royce of this period was $20,000; I can remember a used MBZ Gullwing in Road & Track’s classifieds you could regularly find for $8,000 to $10,000 that I dreamt about owning one day. Ah inflation, the U.S. dollar purchasing power has decreased 93% over my lifetime thanks to our elected officials printing money. I have been fortunate to own many autos that have now become classics including 2 E-Types both convertibles one a ’63 3.8 liter 6- cylinder and the other a ’71 - 12 cylinder and a 365 GTC project car that over a period of a few years went through a total restoration. More recently an F Type R, ah the sound it makes…, have always had a soft spot for what my German car mechanic Dietrick calls “British rubbish”. Perhaps a McLaren is in order to really set him off, what do you think? 😊 I subscribe to a number of your competitors on KZbin; however, in my humble opinion, you are by far and away the best, as you not only know your automobiles, what makes your channel extraordinary is you are able to convey the emotions of driving one of these cars, which is the entire reason we buy one in the first place, as it has nothing to do with practicality or value, or we all would be driving Toyotas, it is all about the emotion the car provides each of us behind the wheel. Each is like a beautiful woman, we know they are trouble with a capital “T” but does this reality stop us from getting involved? Hell no! Your video of the F8 Spyder just sold Ferrari a new F8, my preference Russo with saddle tan interior. Ferrari should be paying you a commission. Hope our paths cross one of these days.

But i mean if you look at it overall, ferrari doesnt really have the „change the engine or the chasis for the new model while keeping the other variable (engine or the chasis) same tactic. The 360s engine was still basically in its core the engine from the early 70s 308 gt4 dino. Same family of engine was used in all 308s , all 208s , all 328s, 288 gto , f40 , all 348s 355s and 360s. Only with the 430 and the 488 there were actual massive changes with the engines other than those 2 cars the engines in the other cars were still a development of the already existing engines.

I won't deny that the intro was impressive. But I watch and sub to you for your authenticity and good reviews. IMO the appeal of KZbin is that real authenticity - compared to slickly edited TV programmes. I'm just one person, but I'd focus on the script (less trying to be Clarkson please) rather than the editing. Overall a great review - I don't usually enjoy watching "unobtanium" but you sold me on it. And thank fuck there's a Ferrari without those ghastly screens that will be outdated in 2 years like the SF90, for those that can afford them.
