Ferrari v Bentley drag race?! Sounds good to us!
We’ve brought in the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso to go up against the Bentley Continental GT Convertible to see which will be quickest over the standing quarter-mile!
Let’s look at the specs, starting with Mat in the Bentley. This luxury grand tourer has a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 550hp & 750Nm of torque. It’s heavy though, weighing in at 2,335kg!
Meanwhile, the Ferrari is much lighter, coming in at 1,920kg. We’ve got our hands on the range-topping GTC4 Lusso, which packs a 6.3-litre V12 engine that puts down 690hp & 697Nm.

I think having the roof down produces considerable drag coefficient, especially at those speeds but I am not sure otherwise would have changed the result.

Same thing I said. Why would you turn the car into a convertible before a race? (To go slower I guess) with all that wind drag. Somebody forget the laws of physics. The car is design to deflect the wind even with the roof down, however there is less drag with the roof up. Either way it wouldn't change the result.

It indeed causes significant drag, even driving with windows open does, though he PROBABLY would have still lost, why put yourself at a disadvantage in the first place?! Fifth Gear did a top speed test in a Bentley continental a few years ago with the top up and then down and the car was three miles per hour slower with the top down. It "only" went 197 mph Vs 200 mph! 🤔😀🤘
