FERRARI ROAD TRIP DISASTER! Stranded on My Purosangue Tour

The first road trip with my Ferrari Purosangue has gone very wrong...! It's the worst possible start of this tour with crashes, cancellations, delays, car issues, and a show stopping problem in the way. Heading via Brussels and Cologne towards Frankfurt, it's a rollercoaster ride of a Eurotour!
I've been very excited for my Purosangue road trip to begin, but it was already off to a rocky start with various things that were planned being cancelled due to bad weather across Europe at the moment. However, I was not prepared for how quickly it would turn into a complete mess with everything possible going wrong for us.
In theory, we're departing The Shmuseum for a run to the Autobahn, before continuing down to visit Maranello, across to Monaco, and back through Germany on the way home. But, between the stops its a very complex itinerary with very little room for movement. The first leg in theory would bring us down to Stuttgart for a number of booked stops, but with one cancelled we had already made a change to something else involving a flight out of Frankfurt. With both shoots either side of that now cancelled, it changes again!
What I hadn't planned was that we'd cross the Eurotunnel to France, only to turn around and go back home again! Round two starts on plan, but with a stop at Liege Airport to collect the missing Zenvo key and registration document, it starts to take a series of wrong turns; missing paperwork, engine warning lights, and ultimately a big nail in the tyre... a 23" hard-to-find winter tyre for the Purosangue.
However, at the end of the day, in steps Maranello Motors Ferrari Cologne who are able to resolve all of these issues with excellent service and amazing speed, and SOMEHOW, the rest of the 3rd day runs to plan and we arrive at Frankfurt Airport with smiles on the face from plenty of V12 fun on the Autobahn.

I know how it feels to have a tire breakdown in a supercar (they don't come with spear tires). It once happened to me in my new M5 comp after hitting a curb on a Saturday evening far from home. I could fill a few hours with stories of my experiences of doing business there, or rather trying to do business. Only city that's worse in my experience is Charleroi

After the tire puncture, it reminded me of 2 tire punctures I had with new tires less than a week from one another back in September. Luckily, I have a great warranty for my tires and the Michelin Cross Climate 2s I have are a wonderful all year around tire. (As for incompetent people, they're everywhere, unfortunately) I applaud your patience and calm nature, Tim. I appreciate your videos, and thanks for sharing!

Honestly..... Tim i actually really enjoyed seeing the OTHER side to this life that we don't often see, the frustration you displayed i actually felt it for you and could visibly see the anxiety but it made for a very relatable video. Let me share my day a few years go, i had a trip just like this in one of my own toys for a routine checkup at hospital for some niggles, not only was the journey as disaster ( traffic, car playing up) , i got told in the appointment ive got advanced stage cancer, i kid you not! The worst day ever...... now days every crappy day i somehow spin it on its head and find gratitude for even being able to experience that crap day! I am alive and well in remission and rolling with life's punches. If possible find the gratitude in moments like these, great video and cant wait to see more adventures with the purosang!

I know how that side of my country is, I am a Belgian myself, from Flanders (the dutch speaking northerns part of the country for those who are not in the know). As soon as I heard - in the previous Zeno episode- that the car had transited in Liege, it was pretty obvious that the key was “lost” during that part of the uk-usa car shipment. And bingo, it was confirmed 5’ later in that episode. Hence, totally unsurprising to now hear about the “5* customer service”… But, don’t forget that once you’ll be living in independent Flanders, Wallonia will remain your first trading partner…

Tim have you thought about using tire plugs for punctures? I know you wouldn't want to go silly speeds with one in a tire, but much better than all the hassle and could get you out of a tight spot.

You know what? I appreciate the honesty of this episode. I can't say I've ever seen you this upset in all the years I've been watching. But it's good to see the good and the bad sides of these things. I've grown very tired of the "good enough for the paycheck" attitude so many now possess. Knowing how to use a tyre plug is probably a good skill to have. That and an inflator can get you out of most situations with nails and tyres and allow you to keep running for good amount of time.

i mean most of the time it's not reachable to fit a tyre plug without taking the wheel off the car. Still good to know though.

The problem is with a puncture that close to the sidewall, it's not recommended to plug it. In order to plug it you have to ream it which makes the hole larger and with it being where it is that is more than likely going to damage the sidewall which makes it more of an issue than it was at the time.

Tyre plugs also can and regularly do go horible wrong delemnating or exploding the whole tyre, I wouldn't risk it on a car like the Puro

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Just know refilling stations that big usually have some kind of tire repair kits available. Either those plug types of gel types. Perhaps even, if your car doesn’t come with a spare, in it’s place there’s usually such a kit where the spare tire would be. Including an inflator for after the repair. Ferris even have their own branded air compressors. Best of luck for the rest of your trip mate.

Canceling on Tim has to be some sort of cardinal sin. This man is an international treasure and icon. I would think that anyone who upset Tim that bad would have to be that monumentally beyond tarded.
