After having played through the game (it's a great little Rune Factory like imo), some small tips (with minimal spoilers hopefully) to note. Regarding stats: * Always have one monster that is leveling speed. You only need one monster with speed to gain initiative, and initiative gets more important as monsters get stronger especially if you have monsters that need certain set ups later on. * Feed your monsters every day - the stat increase of even one point can be significant here. * Power affects both healing, debuffs, and attack - but armor break is specifically tied to speed. Take the time to read your chosen buddy's description and see if they have a stat they favor (some do, some don't). Regarding Farming/Building: * Get the sprinkler. For one copper and one iron it saves you a lot of time. Sprinklers generally make the watering can redundant except for specific use cases (ladder plants). * Yes, you can get fertilizer from the skill tree, but you won't be able to do anything with it because the composter is quest locked - but you don't actually need it because you can buy fertilizer from the general store. * Trees and grass are currently "limited" resources. There are definitely plenty of them, but they won't regrow back. Personally I like to farm wood away from the main Moonstone Island. * For people looking for a building priority, Spirit Barn -> Greenhouse -> Max out Greenhouse. Your own house is mainly cosmetic. * As far as tools go: My personal priority was Hammer > Axe > Scythe > Hoe. Regarding Combat: * Encounters change if you flee. If you have the initiative as well as the perk for high flee chance, you can technically cheese this to try and find specific monsters. * Meditate Charms are important! Some enhanced cards are game changing (atm). Personally, I would never take Study Charms until later in the game, and note that unlike Meditate and Cleanse charms, you *do not* get to back out of Study Charms at the moment, so don't use them if you aren't prepared to maybe Cleanse a bad roll! * Remember that you can burn an action to feed an enemy. If you have the perks (for the levels), you can also feed an enemy and recruit them, but release them - in order to remove them from battle. Feeding an enemy can not only debuff them (for the entire battle and cannot be "cured", even bosses can be debuffed this way, just that the debuffs don't stack). * There are two debuff types (Burn/Poison) in the game, two cc types (Tangle/Calm), and two additional statuses (Intangible/Ethereal) which you may only stumble upon in later game. All of these can get very strong, so don't feel like you have to be confined to the typical Bruiser/Tanker/Healer party. General tips: * There is a warp whistle on Moonstone Island's Goddess Statue (between the furniture shop and fishing shop) - it is a one use per day escape rope which can be used from anywhere - get it so you don't softlock yourself. Also, the Goddess Statue can be admired and can give you free items (including Moonstones and Concotions, if you're lucky). * Regarding bridges - sometimes, depending on island generation, you can actually skip elevations by building a bridge from a cliff into the water down to a lower level. You will get ladder plants later on (these come in seeds which you grow). Also, you can get flippers to swim via the main storyline. * Chests. You can find them in mines, you can find them in dungeons, you can find them in treasure maps: you can also pick them up and use them as storage at home instead of crafting them. * You can generally find 2 or 3 mines on the Moonstone Island itself - that generally means anywhere from 4 to 5 chests along with a fair amount of resources. * If you don't like mining, fishing is also a cheap source of early money. The rod and lures are cheap, and you don't need to buy bait and the fishing minigame is nice and fun. * Minor spoiler but don't neglect the decoration table - some of the temples may ask you to craft an item from them later on. * Minor spoilers but don't worry about the Spirit Brush recipe, it is part of a quest. * The Archway Shrines refresh once per season - make a note of this and make sure you bridge to awkward shrines so you can revisit them. * Psychic Islands - your first island will probably be stumbled upon completely randomly - later on down the line you can sometimes find psychic sight potions or craft them. If you're flying at night and you see rainbow meteor shower - that's an island affected by the psychic storm: always go into these even if they're over your level, because they hold 2 plants needed for the plant quest and are the only way you can get your first Psychic monster. Minor spoiler again, but in every season, one of the two psychic island plants is basically this game's exp candy. * Dark islands - These are late game so don't worry if you can't find them. Same with Ice Islands - which are normal islands but in Winter. * Monster eggs seem to always hatch at level 5 (like Pokemon). There are some monsters that are much harder to find in the field but can be obtained via egg hatching. My personal team line up was Flote (Personal Best Healer Balloon Fish), Magicat (Personal Best Support and CC technician), and Marsha (Personal Best Toxic Sweeper).

Great tips. With some much to do in the game, I don't think I could complete it without a detailed guide. Wish there was a guide out there that could break down what to do when in the game, how to complete it, etc.

For some of those starter dungeons with gaps between platforms, you can use the balloon! Just make sure you get to the edge or the prompt won't appear. It'll help if you're low on resources to make bridges.

Another small tip that took me a while to realize that's pretty useful, especially in the beginning, is that you can pick every chest that you open in mines and dungeons (with mouse3 on mouse+keyboard and B on an Xbox controller).
@MCzag274 Жыл бұрын
I'll be testing this later, currently I'm sus of this tip.
@AIELSOY Жыл бұрын
@@MCzag274 for some more info, it works on the normal brown chests found in mines and dungeons, and the blue chests usually found in secret rooms in dungeons, aka the chests that stay open after you get what's inside. It doesn't work on the end-of-dungeon big chests, since they disappear after being opened. By the way, even if you pick up a blue chest, it still becomes a normal brown chest when you get it.

Lots of good tips here!. Many I've seen, but a couple of new ones so its very appreciated. One thing I noticed no one mentioned is that inorder to take advantage of your spirits non-combative passive features they must be following you outside of the medallion. I haven't noticed that those with combat passives aren't working if they are not following, but I haven't exactly tested this. My example is Loony lid, a psychic monster, whose passive is a 20% discount with the Magic Man. If Loonlid is not out and following you Magic man will not give you the 20% discount. Another tip is to push for the Moonstone Scythe as soon as possible. The other tools can wait, actually you probablt don't need to upgrade either the hoe or the watering can, but the scythe is needed to get the various seeds from the advanced islands. If you are planning on completing the Seasonal seeds mission you'll need to visit these islands with the scythe as early as spring. It can be tough, but it is doable and the money provided is really nice too.

As of now (late June 2024) you can store spirits at the science center! So if you collect a lot before unlocking the spirit barn, you can have them.

The strength of a bash card is actually affected by the speed stat of the spirit whose deck it is in. A bash or even bash+ card can go way higher than 5 if it's played by a speedy spirit!

Some tips after playing a full in-game year: As the seasons change, you'll unlock more crops with more powerful stat gains. This includes crops that give exp (thank you StudioSoft) which can help you either gain levels quicker with your current team or let those in the spirit barn catch up. You have to feed manually though, adding the food to their stall does NOT give them the exp. Rowan also sells fertilizer to make the stats better. I think it's a 50% increase to the stats but they do get used up after a harvest even if its for a reharvestable crop. Resources are limited! Trees and stones do not respawn after a season and not even after a full year. 100+ islands with a bunch of stone and wood should be plenty, but keep this in mind if you're planning out megabuilds. However, the arches that give you cards recharge every season. Speaking of feeding your spirits - you can feed the ones in the spirit barn with just grass. Once you get the glider, moonstone scythe, and all of the crafting stations set up, don't be afraid to use your moonstones on moongrass stalls. It saves you time and at this point you have enough tools to get moonstone fairly easily by raiding islands and dungeons. Bosses can also drop moonstone so its technically a renewable resource. For feeding combat crops, you can feed multiple types! For example, I use one crop that gives +2 to everything but armor and another that gives additional armor. As long as the stat isn't one that's been affected by the previous crop, you can use multiple crops to affect their stats for the day. Eventually you'll get the ability to make potions- this uses two crops to combine stats into one potion. This is mostly useful for combat and taming really powerful spirits like the dark types. With some luck, I was able to tame a couple of ~.lv.60 dark spirits while my team was ~lv.15 with potions that gave +100 taming each. The luck part comes in by relying on barely surviving the first turn or two and for the dark spirits to actually join you Don't be afraid to tame to end battles. I think you get the most money from Zed by completing tasks and he wants you to tame each spirit 7 times. Additionally, it's a good way to end a fight quickly so you can save your spirits' hp and your healing crops for tougher fights. For the most part, the tougher biomes seem to have higher levels but I found some exceptions for this. I've found both an electric and volcanic biome with lv.15-20 spirits which was a great way to get the spirits I really wanted like Sinjin. You can find/hatch every starter but I've personally had a much easier time finding Sheemp and Capacibee than finding Anklyo. I started with Anklyo so I don't know if that influenced my chances. Bash power depends on a spirit's speed. No idea if there's a cap, but the fastest spirit on my team can knock down 5 armor like Ed said Sigil chalk does not currently do anything, but I like using it to mark islands that I've found the moonstone on. You can, of course, use anything you want for the same reason In dungeons, watch for spaces marked with an arrow. This indicates a teleportation space or a hidden pathway to another chest I could be making this up, but from my experience there may be some spirits that are more common in the mines than on the surface. Yesterday I got an electric spirit I've never seen before while I was mining. If you can help it, save most of your mines until you max out your chances to get moonstones from chests on your skill tree. Since moonstone is such a valuable resource, this helps a ton I'll try to answer any questions!

I think there are 3 earth island, 1 water, 1 poison, 1 electric, and 1 fire spirits that can only be found in mines. And normally you can find 1 mine per island by smashing rocks but if you have a barkbyte you can find 1 additional mine per island which means you can find 3 normally or 6 with barkbyte on the main island and also up to 3 moonstones.

one tip with spirits is to LOOK FOR PSYCHIC STORMS. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW CRUCIAL THEY ARE. They contain psychic type monsters, where their main gimmick is to generate energy and draw cards from the deck. it is always a boon to have a psychic type on your team. psychic storms also contain rare plants that can give your monsters experience.

Another tip is those gates that give you the special cards (meditate, cleanse, etc) reset each season so during the spring season try to find as many of them as you can so that you can repeat their rewards each season.

I didn't know that about the gates since I thought you can only get their special cards once per save file. Makes it easier know that happens.

You do not need to keep the level 5 spirit you tame in order to complete the quest for Zed. If you tame a spirit of the appropriate level, and don't have enough room in your party, it still counts as complete when you release your new catch. Also, if you want a static level 5 encounter, head to the spring temple which will always be close by the starting island. The first encounter is a static level 5 log.

it's still important to always carry at least 2 bridges imo, because if you use the exploit to travel over rivers to a yet not reachable dungeon, you cant do that in reverse so either you are trapped or you've got other ways to get to bed until 2am
