Design wise I love Platypunk. It would make a perfect plush. Personally I went with Cruelcumber because it just makes me laugh whenever I see the goofy thing. Early game I found Vegandragora to be very good. It's since been turned into a Drake Slime & is kicking serious ass for me.

My only critique to this video is that to determine the best Starter monster, the Monsters that the can synthesize into should be brought up as well. Since, like you said, we’re probably gonna just synthesize them as soon as we can.

Has anyone else noticed the starters are similar to some of the DQ3 classes: Platypunk - Warrior Fright Bulb - Cleric Cruelcumber - Martial Artist Mud Mannequin - Jester

I kinda miss how in dqmj 2 they had the multi hit ability’s like a platapunk was a 2-3 hit, really miss that for metal slimes and such and thought it was cool

Mud mannequin and goonache goodie makes chocolate golem can be upgraded to stone golem early, then upgraded to Golem, then to a red dragon, then to lord of dragons, then true lord of dragons, and finally the rank X lord of dragovians. Imo it's definitely an interesting starter in that respect.

What do you combine the chocolate Golem with to start that upgrade process? I kept looking for different things to try to synthesize it, but I never found one that was going to give me the increase in the Golem line.

May give it a shot. If I had to pick one, I’d go with the cucumber. I like inflicting as much damage as possible on as many enemies as possible.

In the demo i took the leaf slime but in the main i took the cocumber. In any way, it doesnt matter much since all players will most likely fuse the starter right away when it's unlocked.

Dancing mud monster can be combined with goonache to make a chocolate golem

I picked Cruelcumber because it had spread damage, which is great before you get fusions since it lets you demolish both the G rank cups pretty easily. In the end, it doesn't really matter which starter you start with since you're gonna fuse it away anyway early.

To be honest I feel the starter acquiring method is in the middle of the methods from the previous 2 games basically you have a choice yet it's dependent on your answers rather than just some unknown method like in the second game where it always is random

Cruelcumber is the hardest monster to gain normally because of the need to make specific fusions like string fella. Fright bulb is the easiest to synthesize

Mud Mannequin is a higher tier monster just because of Sultry Dance spam. Though I didn't know Platypunk starts with access to War Cry.

I felt mud mannequin was good enough. His sultry dance can potentially stun an entire party. Really helped with the early tournaments before I can fuse monsters.

I went with Mud Mannequin but I'm not sure I'm all that happy with it. It seems to hit hard enough but its dances rarely seem to ever hit. But it did help in the G and F matches.
