Hello Goodall! You visited the city I was born in, back in 1957. My grandma which I called Ma used to set us on the bench around the courthouse. She gave us pea shooters and told us to shoot at the bus that went around town. Then she would give us a small corn cob pipe with coffee in it and light it for us and went shopping around the square for a bit. She taught me how to how drive at 8 years old on the backroads of Nortonville. Brother, times have changed. But the meals at Ferrell's, my my those over easy eggs are the best I have ever seen from a restaurant anywhere. The burgers....Dynamite! I know your Coach from U of E, Coach Proctor buddy. Great guy! Thanks buddy!

Thanks for bringing up some memories of my maternal Grandma. I think she was also married 3 times (out lived 3 husbands). She was right up there as far as Grandmas go. My Paternal Grandma had a rhubarb patch and made a rhubarb pie with so much sugar that was so good you could not tell it wasn't a mango.

There was a place in London Ky that did the smash burger thing and a lot of us coal truckers would stop there on the way out to I75. That kind of chili is good on the burger too. I would dip my burgers in the chili.

My grandmother was the same way. If I walked into the door she would make chicken and dumplings and also a fried hoecake. To this day her hoecakes are the best thing I have ever eaten. And I ate at Goodalls every Saturday with my crew back in the 80s and 90s. Until they sold. I use to eat at scotties from time to time. (Only the Strombolis) but Goodalls fish and fries. Yum

Not really. When you grill an open faced hotdog it won’t fit on a hotdog bun. They’re just trying to keep it simple I think.

That’s a burger, for it to be a smashed burger you smash and press it for about 15 seconds directly on the stovetop so you get a real crusty burger patty
