Last time I ate at a Shoney's was in college in Owensboro back in like 2009. Didn't know we had one here still. The one in Owensboro got torn down like a few weeks ago. Always liked the breakfast bar

my grandma worked at shoneys until it closed here in the late 90s. I barely remember it, however when you showed the bar it was woooow i remember that!!! I remember popcorn shrimp specifically and the salad bar! Eric knows how to eat! boy that looks good

I haven't seen a Shoneys in years . 1955 in Kentucky and 1965 a Frisch's in Orlando which I went to at least once a week.They were great back in those days.

I go to their breakfast bar every now and then. I didn't know that they are the last one left here. I might have to take a trip by there soon. I also have a nice sized salad for my last plate. Good review as always.

My then boyfriend now husband would call me at 7am and say let’s go to Shoneys. We’d go to one on Eastern Parkway. Loved scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and the little ham slices. Went to this location in May 2024 day before my hip surgery, I had just drove past couple days before and was like SHONEYS!!! Had to go 😊 good video!

Always enjoyed Shoney's Big Boy and Frisch's Big Boy. Difference was the sauce on the burger, as Shoney's used 1000 Island and Frisch's uses their famous tartar sauce. Sorry to see both Shoney's and Frisch's decline in locations, although Frisch's still has locations in Kentucky and Ohio. And Bob's Big Boy in California and the national Big Boy locations in Michigan, the former Elias Bros.

You know, the secret to getting the pepper to come out faster without all the shaking is to take the salt shaker and rub the bottoms together in a circular motion. The bottoms are ribbed and the vibration causes the pepper to flow like snow. You're right about the Tabasco on the eggs being the best. Great reviews!

In this video I have never heard of these places but when I go to a buffet I avoid salads and I will take a roll or two and I will look for the butter then look at there soup selections then the hot and cold apps then look at there entrees like beef pork chicken as I don't like breast meat and seafood and see if they have sushi and SASHIMI with Wasabi and soy sauce then get a drink and if it's a soda fountain then finally dessert time keeping in mind the price and if there is a time limit and I never rush as I take my time as I am kinda hungry but not starving and I won't eat veggies as I look at my stomach for room because I want a good deal and they usually run around 20.00 per adults and half off for the kids and I usually will drink water depending how thirsty I am and don't over stuff myself because I tend to get lazy lack of blood to the brain as enzymes will

I sure miss the Shoneys in pikeville Ky it had prime rib and crab legs on the dinner buffet on the weekend. I think it’s a Mexican restaurant now. The one in wise, va use to have the best dinner bread on their buffet. It’s a Reno steak house now.

Tip on the biscuits and gravy if you crumble the biscuits up you will have more surface area for gravy to attach to. More gravy in every bite.

That Shoney's looks very good. Sorry to see them declining in locations, and disappointed when they dropped Big Boy affiliation. But I prefer Frisch's Big Boy with the tartar sauce rather than the old Shoney's or Michigan versions with the 1000 Island. Hope that Shoney's stays open.

Just had breakfast this morning at Shoney's in Princeton WV this morning. Excellent. If you are looking for fancy, Shoney's ain't it. If you are looking for good, wholesome food, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or supper at a very reasonable price, give them a try. You won't be sorry.

Everything looked good and not like cafeteria food. I know you would know fried bologna over ham. Looked like bologna to me too and I didn’t even taste it. First seeing liver, onions and gravy at a buffet bar. Love it but hate making it! I believe it’s Romaine lettuce 🥬 or bib lettuce 🥬.
