You can really feel how time flies with movies like this. For us today, the song 'Twist and Shout' by the Beatles is 61 years old. When Broderick included it in the movie (filming took place in 1985), the premiere of the song was only 22 years ago and John Lennon had been dead for almost 5 years. It's as if we were listening to 'Marmalade' by Christina Aguilera today.

Its prob been said by now, but part of the awesomwness of this film, that goofy serendipity, is that the story is told from the point of view of the word of mouth spreaders of the legend of ferris bueller, either by ferris himself, or by the myth making of the student body....so, thus, the story/narrative of the movie is almost told thru the eyes, again, of either ferris or the student body the next day, after the fact, thru the all the gossip, exaggeration & all, the tall tales, the legend...also, its kind of like the children's game, where u whisper in a sentence in the oerson sitting next to you's ear and the sentence goes around the big cirlce of kids, & what the end result the sentnce after being passed around is a bit different than what it was at the beginning....so, if u see this film again remember that paradigm, & the silly/goofy becomes somehow more real & kinda epic. Its a genius film, it was really huge in the 80's.

We picked up 2 cases of beer and other party favors including something that has a soda name lol..got pulled over coming home on the south side of Chicago and the cop didnt even care about the beer cans..he said youre in a bad neighborhood..get going back to Indiana before something bad happens. lmao. We had a blast. All of our parents wrote notes too. They thought it was a good idea to see the Cubs in a year they went to playoffs. lol The 80s were a glorious time for growing up!

Did you notice Ferris' best friend was the only person that could tell him no? The only 1 who could as he put it stop Ferris beuller. He recognized that he needed that in his life. Cameron didn't need him he was super wealthy family and seemed to be good student. Except Cameron did need him to touch the real world. You could see alot of this dynamic in the 80's. It was a time where we asked who are we and why are we here. We don't see alot of that today everyone believes they know everything. As far as john Hughes films mine is weird science. I was also a geek and a nerd so it stands to reason. However it's his creation of the brat pack that really expanded these ideas. So when you move to the following of actors that's where we get the crossovers. With films like war games & project x. We let our youth speak because they let their elders speak as well. There's no dialog today only shouting 😂how did I get here? I'm stopping this before I rant.

I faked being asleep once in kindergarten because I was actually pretty sleepy. But I didn't need to fake being sick because in middle school when the bullying was constant I was so stressed out that I just kept getting sick. The movie I think of as the beginning of it all would be Sixteen Candles. But that one's... complicated...

John Hughes Movies: Sixteen Candles with Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall again, that movie came out before they both starred in Breakfast Club, Weird Science, 'She's Having a Baby,' Planes, Trains and Automobiles" The next one might interest you, Pretty in Pink has Molly Ringwald in it, a young John Cryer (You see him in 2 1/2 Men) but this was directed by Howard Deutch and I enjoyed John Cryer's character in that movie. Love hearing a younger generation person with intelligence and a vocabulary beyond video game references and bruh. Maybe there is hope for the future. Ferris often comes across as a Machiavellian protagonist and there's some truth to that, however that whole day he orchestrated tonin essence save a suicidal Camerons life. An art museum, fancy restaurant, high rise, a parade, "most" teens wouldn't be doing the sights of some substance. His sister took the wrong angle. She's the sister of the most popular kid in the universe, use it! Some say ferris peaks in high school till the bigger world of college. I don't think so. Ferris has the most important thing anyone can have, confidence in himself. He can be dropped anywhere and do fine. What will ferris do in the future? President.
