For some reason Cat's website states the C1.7 having only 40.2 HP. WTH? Still plenty though. I used to have a Dixie Chopper 72" with twin 20 HP Kohlers. It was nutty. Two keys. Two chokes. Two everything. Except for some reason it had four gas tanks and I think it held 12 gallons total. Each engine had a centrifugal clutch with a belt that went to a central jackshaft. Two other belts came off that and one went to the mower deck and the other went to the hydraulic pump. At idle nothing would work because the jackshaft was not spinning. It had digital tachometers so you could synchronize the full throttle RPMs of each engine for full power and efficiency. It would mow at 16 miles per hour but of course that was a waste because the cut quality was not good. It was really sort of crudely designed but it was a fun machine and would also do wheelies. I bought it broken (bad deck bearing and spindle) for a good deal and mowed with it for four or five years and sold it with the house.

So this thing doesn't have a throttle stick? Why not just have some basic RPM, MPH, temperature, oil pressure, and fuel gauges instead of a clumsy digital control panel

You Donna come fest it I have a field that hasn't been mowed in over 2 years you are welcome to

I am upgrading from my Ferris 2600 diesel to this. I have been waiting for this machine…

The ZD Kubota mowers have a better wet disc PTO clutch system. Electric clutches are not as good
@MessicksEquip3 жыл бұрын
This is true. The Kubota has that advantage on virtually every other mower.

@@MessicksEquip Except they don't meet industry standard by providing demos of them on customer properties. What's Kubota hiding?
@MessicksEquip3 жыл бұрын
@@blessed7fold You'll find less and less of that any more. Quite simply, dealers don't make enough money selling mowers to put the time in on demo's. When we do them anymore, it's usually with the understanding that the machine does not come back if it performs in the ways we say it will.

I’ll stick with toro. Ferris looks like a ground scalping machine.
@DavidSmith-fr1uz2 жыл бұрын
Not so. The deck is separate from the sprung part of the machine which includes the operator station.

Don’t like them and many many zero turns are guy. Toro has a separate platform that’s way more comfortable
