Helmets will protect you from fatal injury, but the shock wave of an impact often reverberates through the helmet structure. Depending on the material, it will often leave the wearer dazed and confused. For example, say you get hit on the head by a blunt object while wearing a medieval steel helmet. You would be protected from immediate death or severe brain damage but chances are you will have concussion, blurred vision, ringing in your ears and dizziness. If you take time o get the helmet off and sit down, you may recover quickly. The Stormtrooper was rushed down, beaten over the head and continued to be kicked down. He probably ha no idea what was going on and no real way of retaliating through the disorientation.

I know the Empire are supposed to be the bad guys. I think what I find really interesting about this situation is if this was real life and I was watching this exact scene from the comfortable spot behind a screen. I would have sided with the Empire in this situation once the IED exploded. Then again attacking what looked to be an unarmed imperial officer didn’t exactly win the rioters any favors from me. Charging the shield wall also wasn’t exactly something I would have approved of. Once the IED exploded, I would have seen the rioters as people who are destroying streets and infrastructure local communities rely on while endangering the people. In that case I would have seen the rioters as enemy combatants in an active war zone and likely give out a similar order. The stormtroopers, army troopers, and the rest of the imperials were basically fighting for self preservation. It’s an interesting observation but I think it has given me insight into why normal people in the Star Wars galaxy would wholeheartedly and unironically support the Empire. Some may even applaud the Empire in this decision which I found rather fascinating. Edit: I feel the need to clarify this because people don’t seem to get it and are really angry. This is looking at it from the perspective of a random imperial citizen living somewhere like the upper levels of Coruscant. Someone who would only have limited information and likely be consuming Imperial Propaganda.

That’s where the “if this was real life” thing comes in. I have seen this same behavior made for and against both sides of the political spectrum. Considering the empire is authoritarian and has a command economy this seems kinda stupid since you know palpatine owns the banks

I don't know why some people get so obsessed with whether stormtroopers look skilled. It's a little weird, do you actually like them? They're canon fodder for an evil empire.

Adds a touch of realism. Not sure about you but Im tired of watching troopers getting mowed down in 5 seconds with little to no consequence.

It’s fun when they’re cool, and showing them to only be weak and incompetent lowers the stakes.

If you view them as little more than robots - less than human - then maybe the problem is your thinking. Black and white thinking ain't a good thing.

How? It showed that everyone was rising up, even the dude half-a-mile away. The stormtrooper couldn't have expected to be met with immediate violence. Even better, they didn't even put in a Wilhelm scream.

@GreenNinj419 күн бұрын
@ The empire is sexist (against women of all species) and racist (against aliens) If you‘re a human man (skin colour doesnt matter) you‘re fine, but if you arent you can only join the empire if you have connections or are really skilled. Disney ignores this usually though and gives us inaccurate trash like female stormtroopers for diversity sake, so I was surprised that Andor skipped this trend and showed the empire as only men👍🏻
