Finally someone who gets it. The FCPC is not a minimalist carrier and isn't supposed to be. Yea, of course, with mininmal attached stuff its pretty small, but where it really shines is with the assault cummerbund installed as a full kit carrier. Like you said, it's not as super load bearing optimised as the AVS or the CPC, but those are in themselves heavier. Also, yea the FCPC ain't cheap, but considering a "functional" FCPC setup as Ferro sells it is a bit under 600$ while with the AVS you only get either plate bags and a cummerbund or only the harness for that much, so getting an AVS to a standpoint where you can consider it functional is a lot more expensive than the Ferro option.

Exactly! Couldn't have said it better myself, having owned all three the FCPC is definitely the best "all around" / "middle of the bunch"

Plus if you want a minimalist ferro that’s why they make the slickster you just gotta look into which one best suits your needs and figure out how much you’re willing to spend. I personally have only used an FCPC V5 but originally that’s because I wanted a good PC but didn’t want to pay Crye prices. I got it and immediately with only the bags, assault cummerbund, and triple m4 pouch immediately loved it so now have no reason to switch to anything else

I'll be honest and say upfront I went with the JPC. Mostly because it's cheaper, and it's been around significantly longer. You save about $100 with the JPC, and you have a much larger selection of third party options upon purchase. If you don't like something about the JPC someone makes a modification you will like, whatever your flavor. As time goes on the FCPC will get more third party love. JPC $240.90 Plate bags, Shoulder sleeves, cummberbund FCPC $267/281 *MC Black costs more* Plate Bags Only, No Sleeves, No Cummberbund Ferro Cummberbunds $28, $60, $118 Not a knock against Ferro for this but be advised; you cannot open a cobra buckle under tension. They're designed for climbing purposes, if your buckle popped open while you were climbing you'd fall. Not a big deal for the most part, but know your gear.

Exactly man great comment! And thats one of my issues with the ferro is the buckle, but you are 100% right about being under tention it shouldn’t be easy to release 🏴‍☠️

Finally a comment that makes sense. I have both and love both. Wish i could combine some features to have the best pc ever made. For excample i love the thin shoulders of the jpc but i hate the cummerbund. I love fcpc cummerbund more but i'm allitle afraid of the lasercut molle.

I used the JPC 2.0 while overseas and it was great. My only problem was the stitching between the bag and the shoulder strap wore out a little bit but it was nothing serious. Probably going to end up buying another, wish I never sold it

Protip: IRL, the shoulder straps are amazing drag handles. So are assault packs that most dudes will also be wearing. And belts. And slings. Or you can always grab some wang. But a dedicated drag handle is a plus is guess

Curious about your background, you’re taking about having no issues with the jpc straps due to wear while showing a fresh carrier. while I don’t disagree with you (Ive run the same jpc1 for 3 plus years in recon/sniper roles with no issues) I think it would be beneficial to show some actual field tested kit, not something fresh out the plastic, for younger troops to have a realistic idea to base their purchases on..

These JPC's were new at the time (I have since sold them, the ones I had before this were many years old and beat) if I still had the older ones I would have shown them and you would have seen some more wear, but you are correct they were new in the video. My background isn't much I'm just a normal guy trying to put out some content for people that are also just "hobbyists/collectors/shooters" I do however own a company that deals in armor, medical and things of the nature trying to make a name in the space of the "gun world" if that makes any sense. I appreciate the kind comment unlike half of the other ones on here lmao

What is your opinion on comfort between the two?
@RedactedGear
@RedactedGear 3 жыл бұрын
Fcpc with the 3ac cummerbund is just a tad comfier than the jpc, they both in my personal opinion are about the same. Jpc is just going to be lighter out of the box before any pouches/flaps
@Tawnyals89
@Tawnyals89 3 жыл бұрын
As far as shoulder strap adjustment….between the two, which would you consider to have the higher option to size them smaller. Being a female I’ve notice that is an issue of making sure the plates sit up where they are supposed to. I’m leaning more towards the JPC for price but the idea of detaching the shoulder with the Ferro strap is convenient not having to deal with a small hole to get my head through.

So the jpc will (in my personal opinion) fit a smaller frame individual a little better, but the fcpc cobra buckle is a nice touch to have to “swim” in and out of the carrier opposed to pulling it over your head like a hoodie. The cobra buckle in my opinion is a double edged sword because I found that since it was a micro buckle the tabs to release it were finicky to actually get it to release because they are so small (if you have smaller hands shouldn’t be a problem) Now the fcpc fit me pretty good (6’ tall 160lbs slimmer build) but the shoulder straps were adjusted as tight as they would go so take that into consideration when looking at it

damn man how low is that rear plate with the cumberbund there. I would suggest moveing it lower and ignore the top loop.
@RedactedGear
@RedactedGear 3 жыл бұрын
On which plate carrier? Both carriers rear plates sit pretty nice on my body at least!
@x.grover.x9786
@x.grover.x9786 3 жыл бұрын
I am referring to the jpc. it would appear that the cumberbund is mounted near mid of the plate pouches, on the rear plate pouch. I'm rather small and even for me, if I were to fasten that on me where I would have the cumberbund comfortably rest, the rear plate would not cover high enough to protect the top of lungs from rear. both plates should be as high as possible to cover those lungs and heart. if the carrier feels like it is covering your lower back it may feel protective but not the most efficient coverage. perhaps it does sit well on you and you may disregard my interpretation.
@RedactedGear
@RedactedGear 3 жыл бұрын
No man I totally get what your saying! I ran into that issue with how it came setup I had to tighten up the shoulder straps and move the cummerbund like that just to fit properly due to how my body is but 100% on what you said about both plate bags being up as high as possible to cover those vitals!

So, I’ve been thinking about this for months, but I can’t decide whether I want to go with the FCPC v.5 or a Crye JPC 2.0. Been leaning towards the latter. Edit. Also, if you or someone you know would want a Perroz Designs LPSPC in AOR2, with matching shoulder pads, mini mesh cummerbund, JPC style MBITR expander wings and some extremely rare Esstac Kywis in AOR2 as well as Esstac Daeodon triple 5.56 placard in AOR2, let me know.

DM me on insta, and I have both a 2.0 (swimmer cut) and v5 FCPC and they are both incredibly good, I have always been a JPC or die guy but the ferro has definitely won a part of me if that carries any weight. Shoot me a DM on insta and I can give you the FCPC vs 2.0 rundown in my opinion. As far as the Perroz carrier I may actually snag that off you ;)
