Ferro Train HO Narrow Gauge Rack and Pinion Austrian Cog Trains

REYNAULDS.COM presents a video on Ferro Trains Rack & Pinion HO narrow gauge cog trains. Ferro Train from Austria produces fully functional HO narrow gauge rack and pinion model trains which are identical to the trains that operate on the Schneeberg and Schafberg mountains in Austria. Ferro Train produces a complete line of cog locomotives, cars and accessories. They also have a large assortment of cog track and switches. The locomotives are highly detailed and roadworthy; they include full cab interiors, metal boiler and metal frame. The Locomotives are equipped with a powerful motor and two functional cog gears. They are stereotypically driven by gears that engage the rack rail. They also have electrical pickup on all four wheels and operate on 12 V DC.
These incredible little rack and pinion models would make a nice addition to any HO layout. Building a mountainous cog railway is a lot of fun and it might just be the best feature of any layout.

You switched Schneeberg- and Schafsbergbahn. Schneebergbahn starts in Puchberg and Schafsbergbahn ist at the Wolfgangsee. And the are so expensive because Ferro Train is a "Kleinserienhersteller" roughly translatet small margin producer. Most of the models includes a big part of manual labor.

Hi, the track gauge is like 10 mm, something like the H0N3 ( if Shinohara H0N3 is 10 mm wide, than this is it ...). Now, the intricate part is the cog rail itself, the track you can handmaid it...

@@ReynauldsEuroImports Ferro Train also makes HO scale models, but also a number of HOe and HON3Z models. But beware, the HOn3Z gauge does not match the regular HOn3 gauge. The Ferrotrain track has a gauge of 10.3mm vs 10.5mm
