Civivi just released the Chronic in 9cr18mov, if you like plain jane knives like myself then this is probably civivi's best design yet, 3.25 inch clip point blade, 2.5 oz., $48.50. edit: Yep it's probably the chronic you mentioned at the end.

I got mine on Thursday and I haven't stopped playing with it. Great action! I didn't realize how Mini it was when I ordered it. Great for a secondary blade. The Odium looks more like a Mini Malice and maybe that's the reason for the name. The other new Civivi with 9Cr18Mov is the Chronic. Feel better brother!!

An off topic cautionary tale: 12/3/19 ordered a (Mass)Drop/Ferrum Forge Gent on sale for $60 less $20 since I was a first time buyer. $40 for an "in stock" Gent was, no doubt, an out-frickin-standing deal. The "in stock" Gent shipped from Shenzhen China on 12/5/19 and five weeks later on 1/8/20, I received said Gent and was very, very pleased with it despite the 5 week wait for an "in stock" item. Today, 1/18/20, I tried to take the scales off and discovered that a pocket clip screw was stripped and totally free spinning. Couldn't remove it or tighten it. Contacted (Mass)Drop and was informed that I had two options; return the knife for a refund OR keep the knife (with the stripped screw and non-removable clip and scale. I asked about a replacement Gent but was informed they only produce enough for what's ordered, so that was a no go. Asked if I could return it for credit against purchase of a different knife (really would like to have a Laconico Keen) but that was a no go as well. So, since I don't want to keep a defective knife, I'll send it back for a refund...DAMMIT!!!😤 I really, really liked that little fellow and as much as I'd like to have a Gent, I'm thinking Civivi Elementum or the new Civivi Chronic or splurge a bit and go with this new Ferrum Forge mini Archbishop instead. Just wanted to share my little tale of woe with y'all. Of course, if this little fiasco is the worst thing that happens to me this year, it'll be a pretty damn good year.

William Lenderman I feel you. At least on the wait time. I also ordered one at the beginning of December and got it the first third of January. Funny thing is that they went out of stock and a week and a half later they had more So I ordered another and they arrived the same day. But they’re great! So I can’t complain. But now I’m afraid to disassemble it. On a side note to that, TwoSun only takes two weeks despite the stated delivery time.

@@winchesterinc.5643 Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about (Mass)Drop. They offer good prices (occasionally screamin bargains) but after this little experience, I'm just a little bit leery. And you're right about the Twosun delivery time. Well, I got my TS 166 from China in just over two weeks. Even better though is White Mountain Knives. They carry TwoSuns but are often out of stock simply because they have really good prices. If they have what you want in stock, you'll get it in a couple of days. If they don't have it in stock, check in periodically. But be quick. Their prices with the discounts offered are really good.

William Lenderman Yes sir. White Mountain is the place to get knives. I don’t know why people go other places. Service, discount code, free shipping. The knives I’ve bought directly from Drop have been good (FF Falcon, Gent). I get the other Drop knives 3rd party. I haven’t had a problem with them. Maybe you got a lemon but the customer service, from what I’ve heard, can be a little spotty. No excuses for that. At least we know that your 66 is going to be superb.

Great video man. I think the scales are real carbon fiber. I took mine apart and the back is real carbon fiber. So I think it is real.

They say on the site that it’s a laminate. Laminates are usually both sides.

Found green g10 version at San Diego Knives. Salesperson said they just got them. Ergos on this are similar to the Pilar Large and the Cutjack Mini and I can get 4 fingers on the handle. Paid $75 which isn’t bad. 👍🏽🔪

The build looks along the lines of the Gent, having overlays rather than actual scales. Seems to be about the same size, too.

I don’t understand why everyone hates 8cr but when it’s 9cr all of the sudden it’s a good budget EDC steel. The two steels are almost identical in composition. 9cr simply has a tiny bit of cobalt which doesn’t even form carbide. You’d be hard pressed to notice any difference at all in the two steels.

Try Drop.com and ferrum forge is allll over there for under $200 and Ti with milling goodness. You may already know - but I have four in the FF family now, thanks to drop. Highly suggest it if you want to see what they’re about.

The Ferrum Forge Mini Archbishop costs $95.00. A lot of people are complaining/bitching that it's overpriced compared to a Civivi knife. To me I personally think that the Ferrum Forge Mini Archbishop is not overpriced at all!!! Why, because the blade is 9cr13mov(better than D2) and the knife has that great Ferrum Forge ergonomics(Jimmy Dean sausage sized finger choil). Also all of these Mini Archbishops are first sent directly from WE to Ferrum Forge, where Ferrum Forge personally inspects all of these Mini Archbishops to make sure there fit&finish is perfect and that they're issue free(good blade centering and good acton/lockup). I'd rather pay $95.00 for that great Ferrum Forge design&ergos with 9cr13mov, instead of gettting a cheaper Civivi knife that has a D2 blade with that "just ok not great" type of ergonomics!!!

I like the civivi odium much more, particularly the handles. It's better proportionally balanced imho. I don't know..with the blade being so tall, the tapering in the handle looks strange to me. i understand it probably ergonomically good. just my opinion. HURRY UP CIVIVI!
