I saw a tool being used in Oregon USA . A piece of one inch PVC 110 CMS long with plastic funnel duct-taped inside of one end. This tool allows you to easily control how many seeds you plant, how much fertilizer you put around the roots of a plant and all of this without bending your back and easy to control you should make up a couple and try them out! Good luck on your farm!

Good day, Mondo farms i have followed you very well on how to use the Soya OEMFF could you share the brand name of the stiker, and also could explain on how to use it...... please
@mondofarms4343 Жыл бұрын
Hi Kalex. You should google 'Soya Oemff'. I just did, and the search results are quite comprehensive, including the manufacturer, usage, etc. Allow me to be honest with you. You will need to put in a lot of effort to succeed at farming. You won't get very far if you expect KZbin videos to give you all the answers. I decided to help other farmers out there by making the videos you see on our KZbin channel. They take a lot of time and effort to plan, script, shoot, and then edit. But the videos are just a guide. The rest is up to people who watch them and want to be in farming to put in their own effort. E.g. you need to go a speak to an Agronomist and get direct advice.

Keep it up mondo farm. Is compost not working for you? Because I have seen a video where you were making compost previously.
@mondofarms4343 Жыл бұрын
Hi Ba Kingsley. We use compost on vegetable and horticultural crops, which are done at a relatively smaller scale than the field crops like maize and soya beans. I would urge you to watch the video again, paying particular attention to our explanation of why we apply each of the various fertilisers. E.g, basal fertiliser contains phosphorus, which stimulates root growth and plant establishment.

Before deciding the day you're going to spray, it's important to always check the weather forecast as a farmer. Even if you have a schedule and planned to spray for that specific day, it's still very important to consistently check at your weather forecast for the whole week.
@mondofarms434311 ай бұрын
Great advice. On our videos, we always try to share what it is like to farm in the real world. Sometimes, schedules go out of plan, and weather can be unpredictable.

Our contacts are straightforward to find. You click on the KZbin channel icon and find our contact details and see "About us" However, I would caution that we don't generally engage much beyond the material we share in the videos, which take a lot of time and effort to produce. It would become a full-time job, keeping up with so many contacts we get several times a day. Sorry 😞 😔

have you considered making your own fertiliser?
@mondofarms4343 Жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea. We do make compost for use on vegetable crops as shared in several of our other videos. But for the scope of field crops like our soya beans (several hectares), that would be quite an undertaking that we have never even considered. Its easier for us to buy in the specialized fertilisers that are made by big companies after years of R&D. One of my business strategies is to resist trying to do everything. Stick to a few things and become very good at them. So we focus on learning to grow the field crops like Soya.

Super nerdy potassium name fact - the symbol K is used because it's "latin" scientific name is kalium, but this word actually comes from kali which is derived from the word alkali (which itself derived from the Arabic al-qalyah which means plant ashes), and kali was the name proposed by a german scientist who kind of discovered that potassium was a new element around the same time period that an English scientist first isolated potassium. The German and Scandinavian scientists used the pseudo-latin name kalium, while the English scientist who first isolated potassium called it potassium which derived from potash - as in the pot ash because it was isolated from ash. So the English and French speaking world used the term potassium whilst the Germans and Scandinavians used Kalium, and it somehow ended up with the offical "latin" science name of kalium and the symbol K in the periodic table but its called potassium by everyone. And the cool part imo is that both words derive from ash in different languages, because it's found in fairly high concentrations in wood ash. Also alkali coming from the Arabic word for plant ash is pretty cool because ashes are alkaline, which I suppose it's partly why slash and burn agriculture is used in so many traditional farming practices because a lot of these soils are acidic and are made more fertile from being neutralised with the ash (and from the potassium and other minerals in th ash of course).

Good to see how the soya beans farming looks like thank you., but YOU CAN DO BETTER TO GET EITHER HANDMADE FERTILISER SPRAY MACHINE TO SAVE YOUR WORKERS KNEELS, WAIST AND BACKBONE. Safety and health condition of your farm workers should be your first priority no matter .what. I saw this men how they use their hand and fingers to spray fertilisers without hand gloves.
