I think this game is a lot more fun than a lot of critics say. For the third boss (I think he's called Mr. Thunderbolt, if memory serves)and beyond, I use the missiles. Main drawback for the whip is that it picks up any power up that it touches, so it's risky to use. You could hear the "woop" sound at 36:47 when you picked up the lower one with the whip.

Good point, I missed that! It has its uses occasionally but it's all about that max gun.

I don't know which established it first, but in live-action Fester would use a vice grips to remove a bad tooth -- 'curing an ailment'

The only part I actually like about this game is the music for the boss battles and the sewers.

this was a treat to watch. i was never able to beat this game as a kid. i got close to the end once and my sis reset my nes. im still mad about it! anyway great playhrough. looking forward to more!

The cheeseability of the final boss is even more ridiculous than the use of the corner trick on Shadow Link in Zelda II. Don't even need to use invincibility potions, just stand in the lower right out of reach of the turrets and spam homing missiles (provided you stocked up on them).

Yeah after the difficulty of a lot of the game I don't mind it ha. All about the gun, though.

I've never been able to get all that far in that game. Then again I never had much cause to do so; that's a tricky one. I've got all the requests lined up for this month, but you never know if I might hit it in the next few months.

yea it was this game is aguilty pleasure for me hard yes but was fun to explore but then you have to use your head and think of what potions defeats bosses i remember the whip defeats a boss its hared cayse you have to be careful not to get a gun downgrade lol the challenge was some kinda wierd mental thing but i kept playing it lol

Yeah, this was one of the many NES games I never finished but liked. It's been super busy for me lately, but I think for the next month or so I will actually have some free time, so next time you have a live Let's Play I will try to be there!

Was always curious about this game, but never got around to sitting down and trying it. Seems interesting, kinda a smash up of other nes games rolled into one. But hey, that's the 80's, no lawsuits for copyright infringement.

It's not as obvious as other games in terms of what they were obviously ripping off, but at least this game pulls from other games from the same company. But yeah, pretty satisfying and a hell of a lot easier when you realize as I found out at the end that you keep replenishing your potions/items whenever you beat a boss. That's huge for anyone who thought this game was tough. Other than that it's just figuring out each boss's quirk.
