I don’t mind people eating dog meat. What I’m against is the torture. There’s videos of people skinning the dogs alive, nailing their paws to the floor and burning them. Anything you can imagine. They all have different ideas of what type of torture makes the meat taste best and it’s all horrible. I’m also against the mistreatment of cattle but even the worst meat factories doesn’t hang the living cows up on hooks while they’re still alive, rips their skin off and leave them to suffer for a few hours to “salt the meat” like they’re Pennywise. It’s not just barbaric, it’s straight up sadistic behavior committed by psychopaths.

Yes, that's true and I even have tried it once. A bit different from the video, most of the people eat it because cultural/habit. The majority of Indonesian are muslims, which is prohibited them from eating dogs and pigs. Our first choice of meat is usually chickens, then cows and fish. But again, just like the video, there are always people will do that despite they can afford other kind of meat. Rest assured that since 2018, campaigns against dog meat has been done, a lot.

Thanks to people in China, I'm being judged by people because I own 2 dogs that I cherish and love. I'm a Chinese, yes. But that doesn't mean that I eat dogs or what have you that is inhumane. Not only are dogs carnivores which is bad meat to eat but they are not bred as livestock like cows. We're talking lapdogs, work dogs, hunting dogs etc, an animal that has been domesticated as a human partner for thousands of years before we even had civilization. Dogs were not bred to be livestock in the West but instead were bred to to assist with herding, hunting, guarding, and most importantly companionship. I really do hope people watching this video will watch it in its entirety and be aware that majority of the Chinese do not condone eating dogs and love dogs as much as anyone from other parts of the world, otherwise it worries me that it'll propagate the deep-rooted stereotype that Chinese eat dogs which can fuel misguided hate against Asians in general since some folks on the internet seem to lump Chinese and Asians together which I have seen far too often online.
