Fetal Surgery for Spina Bifida at UNC

UNC Medical Center is the only facility in North Carolina and one of a few in the Southeastern U.S. that performs myelomeningocele spina bifida surgery. Neurosurgeons Scott Elton, MD and Carolyn Quinsey, MD, work as a team with fetal medicine expert Dr. William Goodnight in the UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to perform the procedure.
