Incredible presentations! I was just at the monument and was awestruck. I was the only person there for hours and was amazed that so little attention is given to this historic battle compared to Little Bighorn. In many ways the Fetterman fight had greater implications afterwards. Thanks so much for posting this!

My great grand father was Col. Henry B. Carrington who commanded the fort.

Read about the fight in a number of books. Thank you for your vivid recount. Nice to see the landscape, where it happened. Many families, on both sides, to mourn the fallen. The Bozeman trail got closed for a while and the forts left for demolition by the people.
