What if later stages of the egg-things start to invert their yolk and look a bit like the eyes of the witnesses? I also like the idea of seeing a harmless variant early on and get a reaction like ''Oh hey, you're kinda cute'' and 2nd encounter it's grown and by the third it's like ''Oh no. This is becoming a problem''

I really dig the idea of the hand being placed palm-side up, it even gave me an idea. Since the idea of unwanted intimacy is at the core of the story, what if at certain moments in the character’s animation it holds its hand open, as if to receive something from the main character-maybe the main character’s hand in return? Also, what if there was an umbilical cord placed at some bizarre area of this beings body? Perhaps as a way to communicate the fetal nature of the creature while also displaying its alien physiology?

One more thing! As a gameplay note, what if the fetus hides its yolk behind its hand until you get close enough for it to reveal the yolk by opening its hand, giving you the weak point to attack?

Some names I came up with: “Forms” - vague and ambiguous, their designs hinge on their silhouettes. “Murmurs” - They are stealthy and hard to perceive, they only suggest form and aren’t ‘articulate’ in their visual language. Also calls upon bodily themes (heart murmur, or the spark of life). “Nourishers” - They require sustenance and/or provide it. “Toxins” - They are undeveloped and were purged from their resident “womb”. “Siblings” - keeping with the theme of birth.

I love the concept. One idea that came to my mind was that one kind of fetus constantly drags and pulls its giant egg yolk behind it wich is attached with some black goop. Because of that attachment its attacking range is the radius of the strings. Kinda like the Chain Chops from the Mario Franchise.

i think you can really define the shape of the body of the fetuses if you analyse your character design elements. I see you have this bit of infinity planned out for your characters. You can go from that idea but since you have this whole hand motif, you can really define the shape of their limbs and body if you model their legs and body from the bones of the hand and arm that shapes them. For the big brute for example: Its back has the big hand shielding the yolk, you can model the legs by splitting the bones from the wrist and make some makeshift legs from the two forearm bones. If your creatures reference this whole daddy long arm character, you can try to sculpt them like they are developing into a daddy or a monster like that. You can make them into different stages of evolution which ties back to the whole egg motiff and you can play with the implication of the creatures being able to grow into bigger threats. Idk, this is my opinion. Really loving the videos so far. Im not a blender sculptor guy but i am working on some character design of my own so i thought id share my thoughts with you. Keep up the good work.

I suggest calling these creatures Seekers, Spawn or maybe Acolytes. All of these bring the lower ranks of religious cult worshippers to mind in my opinion, and they also fit in with the Manifestations and Witnesses. I'm a huge fan of the more frequent uploads btw:)

What about the bystanders? Since the other manifestations have names rooted in actions it would make sense that all of them follow the same rule. Meaning the name would be derived from certain action they do. Ofc perhaps this one doesn't need to be named based on what they do, rather what others do with them or to them. You could name them thus something like: the expected, the suspended, the awaited. The unborn? Action but negative, like anti action. You can boost the fetal look by making the head massive, like bigger than the body massive. If you want the shell to be more on the nose your could design it to be its defensive mechanic. Like it would cover the yolk briefly with eggshell making it impossible to harm while its covered. The player would need to break the eggshell every time to actually harm the creature?

"Protones"? A nod to them being a proto-beast; a prototype of what is to come. The 'tone' is derived from what it's simple pallette and how maybe the laymen describe it, as a creature of (dark) tone. Basic yet nuanced and descriptive.

I really liked the vid and concept!, be wary tho (in case you don't know Gravity Rush) that some of them are really similar to "The Nevi" (enemies) from the games Gravity Rush 1 & 2. You can search "Gravity rush enemies" to see what I mean. Just as you said with the yolk with these enemies their "shiny" part is their weakpoint that you gotta hit.

I like the dark part, that could be a proto-matter, some substace maybe like a dense dark smokeish liquid trying to become solid in this plane, like more smoke and less liquid in the first stages. maybe they could have a fine probocis to feed like mosquitoes, or fine tentacles like jellyfish and when the yolk become big enough from feeding this energy is transfer to the body turning this proto-matter smoke into a black mass an actual embodiment of their essence. Oh and they could feed on someting non material in humans like emotions or sanity, or happines hahah

you could call them zygotes, its a cool word (zygote - a diploid cell resulting from the fusion of two haploid gametes; a fertilized ovum. (basically the cell that becomes a fetus))

Maybe a multiple would be a good name, but only if the fetuses attack or appear in groups. For gameplay, an introduction (and mechanic) could be seeing them grow into the next stage. In game, they may grow after a while of not being hurt

Embryos? Hatchling? I love the idea of banding forwared as in fetal position. Healthy newborns come in all colours from white, threw al shades of bink and red to dark purple. Also premature babies develop jaundice quite often. It would be cool to see you play around with difference between developed featus's shape and all the varients they go threw during pragnency. Animal developmant is weird.

You could call them Feartuses or perhaps even better: Inchoates, look up the meaning "inchoate" and it will say it all. The more they appear and cluster the more your fear level increases that diminishes your composure affecting your skill and abilities. They perhaps should look more underdeveloped and unrefined, having more a disgusting aspect to them. Have more than one variation to their reference model so you get a varied mass of them but with a common style so you can identify them.

2 things: - 3 friends of mine have had children over the last few years, I'm always sending them baby-related content that comes up on my feed, so I couldn't hear you talking about fetuses without thinking about babies. I know you want more evocative than literal stuff, but I couldn't help but picture those creatures with baby-looking parts, like they have a muscular adult or dog-ish leg but with baby feet or something, they walk stumbling and all. It's horrifying, those toddlers traits on a hostile, inhuman creature, like it's both fragile and menacing. - Also, have you ever seen those videos of people growing chicks out of the egg shell? Like in a cup or something? It boggles me how, at a certain point, the yolk becomes this bunch of veins and undefined organic mass, maybe it could help you out! Like there are internal organs inside their yolk, but you can barely make them out, almost like the skull on the xenomorph's head, you gotta pay some attention to it to figure. Like they're much more hinted at than clearly displayed. And some veins here and there. That was a great video as always, thank you, boro :)

I like fetus as a name. Neonate, spawn, seed, etc all give the impression that something is already born, and call sweet newborn babies to mind. But a fetus isn't complete, and isn't supposed to be born yet. It makes it feel incomplete, not fully baked, somehow wrong or twisted.

I think they look great, however the one with only two arms doesn’t make a lot of sense. Why would it not use the arms as legs instead of crawling? I think a quick fix could be to only give it one arm instead. This might also make its movement more interesting and make it look like it’s suffering .

I think "fetus" is a bit lost in translation, given your other names "witness" and "manifestation". Fetus is a bit more literal and there's a lot of baggage associated with the word in English/the USA. You could call it "unborn" (although everyone who remembered it was once called "fetus" might be grossed out by that--still a goodie i think, based on your designs.)
