The older sister rather be looked at as cold, distant, emotionally unavailable than to be blamed by the younger sister or admit to her the shame of knowing she was forced to participate in inappropriate acts to her little sister. Honestly, the older sister might need therapy even more than the younger one because what I see is someone who is trying to block out and avoid past traumas that are very clearly still eating her alive inside. The younger sister, however is at least able to acknowledge their past and what they both went through, she seems to just need help unpacking and working through it all. They definitely both need the help but I feel like it’s gonna take some deeper digging for the older sister. I truly hope they can move past it all and form a strong sister bond eventually. He didn’t go deep enough honestly because there’s obviously more to this. Listen to the way the older sister speaks to her, she’s angry with her. Shes upset because of all the things she’s been through she feels like the sister was treated better, given more support. “I make her feel like that because she feels like she’s better than everybody” it’s pure jealousy and no conversation will fix that until she comes face to face with the deeper reason. The hug was nice but at the end up the day nothing will get fixed until she starts feeling and understanding her emotions.

It’s a difference between tough love and hatred and I’m sorry, but the older sister hates her younger sister because she reminds her of what she went through. And as an older sister, I could never. I could never blame my little sibling for something I went through because I feel guilty that I couldn’t save her. The older sibling feels guilty. She could not save her sister from the horrors she went through and because of that guilt she has put up a wall and blocked the younger sister out. Y'all are throwing too much bs on the older sister. The older sister is a brick wall from being abused. She's dissociating. Fight, flight, freeze, and faun are the four different ways someone can react to trauma. The younger sister is a fighter. The older sister freezes. Freezing can mean having very strict boundaries, dissociating, shutting down, having an emotional and mental wall built up, etc. This is a case of the classic saying "Hurt people hurt people." Both ladies are victims of tough circumstances and we all deal with pain in different ways. Some of us reach out to others, some of us shut down and become closed off. I loved seeing the show in person because it was a NO JUDGMENT zone. We are all products of our environment and both ladies made themselves vulnerable by going on the show to talk to Karamo. As much as people want to paint the older sister to be a bad person, in the end she showed up to the show and that means she wants a relationship with her younger sister. I really hope that the therapy that Karamo/the show offers really helps them both. I'm cheering for these ladies and wish you both the best on your journeys

I totally agree, the older sister had something really bad happen to her that she has never talked about...it's in her eyes. The younger sister said it herself, that there was some things about her sister she does not know. The older sister's confession that she felt loneliness tells it all.

Everyone is forgetting the fact that they were going through hell as children, and she said the older sister had it worse…we can only pray for their healing, because she has to deal with the fact that she hurt her little sister on top on being traumatized herself

The oldest is hurt too, remember that, she’s healing and seems like she’s trying her hardest to find empathy for her sister without bringing up old scars that her little sister is still processing and healing in herself. I think they both just need to really listen and understand each other and maybe they can grow and heal together.

Their trauma is just showing in different ways. We can say “the older sister is cold hearted etc” however we have to understand she had to build herself to be this person as a defense mechanism. She ran away at 12 and was going all that time. Who knows what life threw at her. Every party needs grace.
@karamelleyez2 жыл бұрын
Exactly... People really seem to underestimate who a child has to become to survive in those circumstances. She was a baby, already been taken advantage of, out in the world unprotected and vulnerable... Sometimes you have to disconnect for your own sanity and I feel like that's what she had to do. Unfortunately, it's not something you can just turn off because someone you may care about cries. People forget it's not a light switch.

Y'all are coming down hard on the older sister cuz y'all aren't seeing the fact that they're BOTH unhealed. One being further along in her healing journey doesn't negate the fact that the other is still on her own healing journey. Healing journeys are PERSONAL, & each individual has their OWN PACE. We do not get to decide how far along someone ELSE should be in their journey. Everybody handles things differently BECAUSE WE'RE ALL DIFFERENT MINDS & SOULS. It's called "compassion." We could all benefit from learning it & putting it into practice. I'm sending them both love, light, & healing energy🖤

The youngest still holding on to the past and needs to learn how to let go and move forward to also heal from their past. She needs to talk about what's hurting her and holding her back. The hurt and pain is deep. I wish them well and pray they can get counseling to help them alone in their lives.

This was painful to watch, with the older sister being so cold to her younger sister. Hearing that the older sister, was part of the pain that her younger sister is trying to still heal from...was so heart-breaking to hear. I'm so sorry for what they both went through, but the younger sister was in so much pain and getting that hug at the end...meant a lot to her. She felt alone and the only person that she was close to, abandoned her. I pray for them both, especially fo the younger sister, that God will hold her tight and comfort her as she comes to grip with her pain and finds peace and healing.. That baby was in so much pain aand that hug at the end had me crying...because I was molested by a family member and the pain never really goes away. May they become close sisters again and strive in this life and support each other, holding each other close - through thick and thin. I wish I could get in tocuh with these girls and keep them in praryer....and become their adopted big sister. I've had some of the same tramatic experiences that they had and only prayer and a relationship with God has kept me going and striving in life....because only God can heal such pain. God bless them both!🙏❤🙏❤

The older sister is misunderstood. Y’all constantly saying she’s cold hearted and she has hatred for her. She hasn’t healed, her coldness is her coping mechanism. But the younger sister cannot expect her to be there when she could barely show up for herself. Like they said, she’s been through some things way before Desire started doing through them. Who’s there for her when she’s hurting? Who’s holding her when shes crying and getting abused ? No one showed her the love that Desire is expecting. So why expect her to know how to give it when she’s never received it.

“i went through it first” why is it a competition on who endured the most trauma and who had to endure it first? and not just that she became the abuser too and that hurts. she’s so cold towards her and that sucks. that older sister does not seem like she’s healed at all if she’s so resentful towards her sister like that.

She's resentful towards her sister, that's why. She feels like her sister recieved the better end of the abuse and she recieved so much more abuse. Of course it's not a competition but in her mind, all she feels is anger and bitterness towards her younger sister because of the treatment that she received. She's cold and seems heartless because that is her coping mechanism. She has not healed from her trauma and that is why she is behaving this way. Hopefully she is able to recieve help but other than that, pls do not judge her. SA/abuse is a complicated topic and so you shouldn't judge them for the way they are now.

The younger sister needed her but once adopted the older sister felt that this need was gone and she needed to be needed so she pulled away from the bond. They have years apart and the older sister seems to have learned to numb her emotions because the home did not cultivate them. Being an adopted parent of siblings is not easy. You are learning and building with each child while still trying to help them build with each other. Even the best adopted parents struggle with this but they are adults now and they can control and determine what that relationship looks like and I truly pray that they find their individual and collective healing.
