Feuerschwanz 20th Anniversary Special: Hans Platz on 'Warriors' & Milestones!

I came for the English songs (Warriors attracted me to the band) but I listen to them all now. Music transcends language. Of course, given the metal genre, many of us have at least a passing familiarity with rocking to German music thanks to Rammstein.

I was learning german for few years, during mid and highschool. I hated the process, but every time I hear bastard von asgard I put the volume up :) hope to see you on stage soon. :)

i love the songs in german even though i can't understand them (that was 7 years of school classes wasted 🙂), so the english versions has helped me understand the themes of some of the songs. Oh and thanks for a great show in Berlin, definitely woth the trip from Aalborg (in northern Denmark). I love both Memento Mori and 11. gebot in german, and prefer the german version of both songs, in english i love Warriors of the world.

Thank you for the interview Jasper and Hans. I have loved Feuerschwanz for several years, my discography is almost complete including Maximum Berserker. I hope Warriors does attract more non-German speakers, the odd english version is great.. a little treat. I hope they never abandon singing in German... oh and Hans, please if you have any word in it, please come to 70k in 2025.

@@BelgianJasper english cover would have to be "Bad Touch" , it is so wrong and right at the same time... to introduce non-metal heads to Feuerschwanz it is "Blinding Lights". For an original is Kampzwerg, I'm looking forward to Francesco Cavalleri's version.

I am absolutely obsessed with this band! The minute I found out about Warriors, I per-ordered it so friken fast! Ever since I heard Untot im Drachenboot, I have always dreamed of hearing an english version of that song, and now I can, which makes me beyond excited! Hans, you are a kick ass guitar player and super underrated. I love your work in this band and dark side of the moon! Hope to hear new songs from that band sometime soon! Cheers and keep up the awesome work! I actually first heard of Feuerschwanz through Tank the tech when he reacted to Untot I'm Drachenboot and feel in love with this band from day one

Jasper, once again you master your subject ! We indeed can fully enjoy Feuerschwanz (singing in german) only with a good level in german ! I confess that, even as a hardcore fan of the band, I don't like their english songs. The rythm is quite "martial" , and doesn't match with english language, which is too flowy, not enough rythmic. I sincerely hope they'll stick to german language for the future songs ! For example, Valhalla calling sounds miserable (sorry, honest opinion) in english, and the smoothness of the lyrics doesn't fit the break ups in the music. Of course, it's a cover so they had to respect the original version, but I find that they lose their initial soul when singing in english. And Peter's voice in english is...dear lord🙄🙄 (I'm surprised Hans didn't say Gesundheit by reflex when you sneezed !) Thank you Jasper for this great interview ! !

​@@BelgianJasperI think true fans (almost since the band has get known) are the least prone to changes / evolutions, bc we have the feeling we're losing "our" band. In the other hand, if there's no evolution, we always have the feeling to listen to the same music. So evolution must be hard to manage for the bands ! Thanks for non-rejecting my controversial opinion !

I am a bit skeptic of this album but will hear it with an open mind. I have all their albums and DVDs from the dawn of time but will probobly not buy this one unless I get really surprised (hope they will forgive me)
