The story of this one is great! It explores a "what if" scenario of what if you saved Haurchefant from dying. But instead if making the timeline better you split into a different timeline where king thordan has now been able to cage the dragons and consume the eyes making him dragon king. The fight ends with a "some possibilities are better left unexplored" note there. This is the first time they actually included a whole story arc into an ultimate. In Omega they did something similar. Omega always wanted to be the best at combat but he never was able to defeat us. In the Ultimate we go into a different timeline where he found out that our strength comes from a force which is influenced by emotions. Being a machine he can't feel emotions, so he consumed Alpha, which was able to feel emotions. That allowed him to also use this force against us making him The Alpha Omega They just announced the next ultimate just 2 days ago. I can't wait for the story of it. I have done all the ultimates released so far and I can say they are the most challenging piece of content in any multiplayer game. With raiding for about 4h per day, 4 days a week AND watching guides it will take around 2-3 months usually to clear them, tho many need around 4 months. It is an incredible dance of memorizing patterns, recognizing visual input and reacting to it lighting fast, thinking of conditional adjusting depending on what you and others are being marked with, and also extremely tight heal checks and DPS checks. Paired with the amazing music I can confidently say that ultimates are the pinacle of hardcore content in MMOs.

That was inspiring to read! I had no idea the storylines ran like that. It’s impressive to make an ultimate raid alone but for it to have such a story heavy presence too is amazing! I watched the key note and saw that FR was announced so I’m for sure going to keep an eye out on that!

I think having someone with you explaining some quirks of the mechanics would give you the full extent of how complex some of those mechanics can be. There's only so much a full clean video can show you. Might be good to give it a try :D

Yeah I do agree! I suppose it’s one of those “you have to be there and doing it” moments to fully take in what’s happening!

There, what you said "the music fit every single scenario]" YES! Finally, someone said it! The music of FF14 has been one of the best in the business for over a decade now. Every single fight, dungeon, or activity has a music that resonates with whatever it's happening and it doesn't feel like a random OST put in there as most games nowadays.

Genuinely could not agree more!

Stellar reaction matey. Your lips when in shock looked like a heart lol! I personally did the Ultima Weapon Ultima, and am working on TOP sometimes. UWU took me six and a half months with a static because of drama, short raid times and all that, but hey, it was awesome. Taught me about my playing limits and my desires out of playing ffxiv. Now I'm keeping myself optimized and waiting for Viper in 7.0! Surely gonna love it as a melee/monk main.

Appreciate you taking the time to comment dude! I’m dead excited for viper that’s for sure and I’ve set my goal to clear DSR even if it ends me mentally hahaha!

Wtf happened that it took you 6 months? I cleared it in 12 days in PF.
@angelsoflolz11 ай бұрын
@@MrCharly780 Yeaaaah... drama. Like, a tank that was sick 50% of the weekends we raided, eventually 100%, but ties that kept them in until they went asshole mode about it. Underperformance too. This was mid shb, no nail skips and allat, too. I had the fight on autopilot by the end, literally yawning, but it was nice to win in the end

Ahhh I was hoping you’d get around to DSR as well. Look I love all the Ultimate fights for respective reasons, but nothing quite matches the sheer spectacle and bombast that DSR has and showing a potential alternate reality we might’ve went down had it happened the way it did, and it’s so incredible. Now getting to that final phase is a Herculean effort that can take several hours.. and I hope to make that journey one day myself. I wish I was playing 14 when DSR’s race was still hot and popular, though it’s still doing well for itself in the Party Finder at least.

I haven't done the new ultimates but I have cleared every single savage raid since day one back when FF14 launched. I remember back then we had more system for us to juggle and it was difficult. But for every savages we have done, towards the clear, we knew the fights so well, all of us were confident about where we are, where we suppose to go, and for how long. To be honest, the battle effects may seem overwhelming for outsiders but for us, we see it different. Kinda like in Dragonball anime, we can kinda sense telegraphs rather than looking for it.

I finished this fight earlier last year. I have to say it was one of the greatest gaming achievements I have ever held. Not only is it insanely difficult and requires a ton of endurance, but thematically it is unmatched in quality. I remember everyone in my group screaming after we got the clear. I've been playing this game since 1.0, and I have been raiding ever since the beginning of ARR. I encourage anyone even mildly interested to pick up raiding and improve your skills, because the reward and satisfaction of pushing your skills to the limit by doing fights like this are incredible.

That’s such a cool insight and congrats on the clear! Thank you for taking the time to comment! I absolutely have set myself a goal to clear this by the end of this year for sure!

This video made me wanna clear all the ultimates, there is no fkn way I'm letting a clicker be better than me

Hahaha! I love the premise behind that!

just a reminder it took 6 months for Echo Team one of the best WoW raid groups if not the best WoW raid groups to actually finish this since they play it casually and take a breaks and have to replace a lot of members who want to clear the fight, not to mention they also have the Raszageth RWF as well, this fight just broke them.

You can turn down the effects of other players. This person didnt. So it adds to the difficulty lol Edit: I see it was just only the rdm that had effects of other people on. Madlad Edit 2: It is chaos... organized chaos i like to say (Penta legend. I beat all 5 of them :3)
@deployablelover10 ай бұрын
Yeah I knew about being able to turn the effects down but just baffled me why they had them on hahaha!
