Purplepuppet The creations of Japan, especially anime and games, have been the moral Mr Miyagi's or Yoda or whoever is your guy, of so many of us. I learnt to not give up by watching Bleach, I learnt to care about people from Naruto, I learned what adventure is from RPGs. If japanese game and anime were just slightly incorporated into school systems all over the world, just about 30 minutes a day, the world would be in peace.

***** Actually, I think it'd be more in war than it is now, since the more popular animes, especially the 2 you just listed, and RPG games usually have pretty brutal themes to them.

Clohne Freid The ones causing brutality are the enemies, the player is trying to save the world by sticking with his friends. I seriously doubt that that would be harmful.

That's why we have to help each other and live life to the fullest. Even if you say goodbye, you'll always be in our hearts. So, I know we're not alone anymore. Why I was born... How I wanted to live... Thanks for giving me time to think. To keep doing what you set your heart on... It's a very hard thing to do. We were all so courageous... What to do when I felt lonely... That was the only thing you couldn't teach me. But we need to figure out the answer for ourselves... I'm so happy I met everyone... I wish we could've gone on more adventures. But I guess we all have to say goodbye someday. Everyone... Thank you. Farewell. My memories will be part of the sky..." - Vivi

FF IX brings me back to a time when my mother was still alive. Hearing this music is an emotional challenge am happy to take. This is just beautifull, thank you to the Orchestra. Thank you
Hearing this in the car in FFXV brought me back here, and this rendition instantly brought me to tears. The generation that grew up with Final Fantasy learned so many positive lessons and values from these games at a time when they weren't recognized as anything but a childish waste of time by most of our parents. It's funny to think how deeply wrong that notion was. These games are master works of art, easily surpassing the depth of many other mediums, and more than that, they bring out the best in all who are touched by them. I'm thankful that they will always be a part of me.
@XiongGou7 жыл бұрын
Christopher Wilbanks hearing your description is exactly how I have always felt. Especially about people believing there is no significant value because it's a silly waste of time, it's just a video game. It's not though, these games teach about sacrifice, love, selflessness, honor, overcoming fear and doubt and doing the right thing just because! That is why these games have the following they do. Just wish modern games would grasp this concept of a game being more than just a game.

They are definitely special games. Archetypal myth and wisdom, heroes journey etc. Tremendous presentation and music. The FF series is one of the most important games, it is the definition of iconic and classic in the medium. Thankfully i got great parents , and my dad was the one leading me into the world of games . I grew up playing all those adorable and creative pieces … i got inspired in so many ways , and i still love them . im thankfull my dad could give his Passion of Video gaming and Music to the next 2 Generations , and if i will ever get the Chance to tell others how impressive , and Beautiful those "old games" are and were , i will do it . I got the Chance to see the Distant Worlds Final Fantasy Orchestra 3 times live , and it has been the most beatiful Music ive ever seen and heard live . it touched me in so many ways , and i barely could Held my Tears back at every piece of it , aswell as susann calloway was singing … its worth every hard earned Gil - and id recomend it by anytime again ! - Greetings

You are right .. Final Fantasy and chrono cross tought us too much beautiful things .. Thanks for japaness , they are really great people to creat such positive games ..all the respect and love for japan ... They are really genius and creative , they are using the anime and video games to transfer postive things to us and teach us the humanity and the precious values .
Nobuo Uematsu is genius. I met him at Distant worlds. Such a happy and inspiring man. He is everything you hear in his music. I asked him what this song meant, he replied: " This song is about making it through the rough. Remembering you have somebody out there when times are rough. " When we heard it play a little later in the night, I cried. It holds so much sentiment!
@Nibelungenherr187610 жыл бұрын
To me FF IX is the best because it is most humane. There is no single pure evil character and even though it's handling themes like death the way it handles them is so unbelievably humane. And Uematsu's music captures perfectly that humanity.

+Wataru Hayase That's beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story. I think what moved me the most about FF9 is how we fear death. Some people, like Kuja were so afraid to die it drove him to do insane, evil things in order to prevent it. In the end I felt so sorry for him, because he felt so alone and had no hope. He was the real victim. If he were not so afraid, would he still have been a villain? And nope, you are not alone. I appreciate you.

I'll never forget this song and the moment in FFIX that it accompanied. It was such an incredible moment, both heartbreaking and beautiful to see Zidane try to forsake his friends and handle the burden himself. But after everything he's done for them, they'd never let that happen. It was wild to see one of the most positive main characters in the entire Final Fantasy universe take a turn and really hit rock bottom, only to have his friends save him.

This conductor is everything that a conductor should be. I've heard it said that with professional musicians like this, you really don't NEED a conductor - they're perfectly capable of playing the piece in unison without the baton. But this guy... he's not exactly directing the music, he IS the music. And that's how I want to live my life... I am not directing the music, I AM the music. We are part of it, it is part of us! So what is the difference? You are not alone! This brought tears to my eyes today.

The original was very conflicting in nature as it emphasized Zidane's confusion about who he really was. This one is very nostalgic and somewhat mournful at the same time. It's starts off almost as if it's trying to bring back a sad memory and then trying to showcase the good hiding beneath it towards the end. Both are great in their own right, and it only showcases the fact that Nobuo Uematsu is one of the greatest composers in video game history! Thank you Uematsu for having shared your musical talents in one of the most popular video game and video game franchises we have ever seen!
@My2Cents110 жыл бұрын
I agree. The original was really conflicting. It was part sorrow and despair, and (at least what I got from it) anger and frustration. This version gave a bit of a different feel. They seem to do this often when transferring Uematsu's work to a full orchestra medium, in order to make full use of the ensemble. This time it worked beautifully, but other times not so much. Sometimes it totally alters the mood for which the music was originally written. Like with "Aeris Theme". The original track was the musical manifestation of pure sorrow and grief. All the instruments wept in heart wrenching harmonies as if the world has lost the only thing pure that was left in it. The orchestral remake is all bombastic, full of timpani rolls and piatti crashes. I thought that was a total botch.
