Oh! Wow, what an opportune moment for me to see and hear madam Barbara Walker, I’m simply speechless, what a brilliant mind, what an amazing woman. Thank you FFRF for bringing her onto the show.

This woman's published works have made such a difference in my life because after leaving religion, she and her writings gave me direction and purpose. And I will forever be indebted to her for her guidance! Thank you Barbara!

What a delightful woman! Thank you so much for introducing her to people like myself outside of the US who may not know of her. I am so excited to realise all the work she has done amd authored is accessible to obtain. 92....what an infinite amount of wisdom she must have and she has selflessly shared.

Wow, I have adored Barbara’s knitting books since the 1980s…was looking to see if she had any knitting videos, found this. I had NO idea she wrote about any of this! What a terrific interview! Looks like I might have to dive into some of her other books. Thanks!

THE UNBELIEVER'S BIBLE is great composition by Barbara Walker. I am from Russia and we have the same issues concerning religion and faith. It is worth reading despite nationality and citizenship. And I'm also subscribed to FFRF.

If you think “what will it be like when I’m dead” and that thought worries you, just ask yourself “what was it like before I was born”. The pre life and afterlife are the same. No problem!

I am in total agreement with Barbara ..I've had similar experiences and arguments with believers ..the falsehood of religion is so deeply embedded in the minds of believers that it's just like talking to a rock ...to say that they are dumb as a rock is an understatement if ever there was one

Rocks also have feelings and sometimes complain. The "Rock that Begat Thee," aka Phallus, is a real complainer in Deuteronomy 32.

The original sin practice extends to the children for centuries, too. The old “sins of the father visited upon the children” and views that children were born malformed or were ill because of their parents' sins, etc., all contribute to the general callousness in the church's views against women and children (and the disabled, etc) as fully human beings in general.

I can relate to her when her dog died and the minister just negated her despair. Why? Because when I attended my older brother s funeral service, I went up the presiding minister and asked him why my brother had to die? He simply said : " It was God s will " I could have punched him in the face!!!

I sincerely hope I see the day when a person can *PROUDLY PROCLAIM* to be an atheist, and others would have to *shamefully admit to being christian, jewish or islamic, or of any other religion*

I always thought the prohibition of suicide by religion (not just christian) was about saving face (religion wasn't enough reason to want to live, life isn't precious if someone takes their own, etc.) The seizure of property aspect makes even more sense.

I'm reading The Born Again Skeptics Guide to the Bible by Ruth H. Green. How did the Christian religion get the way it is. Terrible things/stories are told. I wonder how many people actually read the Bible. 🤔

And for those few who have read the Bible, how can they continue to believe with a conscience? Like believing in Hitler.

Which book have the information about the women killing?
@fionafiona1146 Жыл бұрын
There is s number of books on the subject of European persecutions of heretics and magical people. The south and east did disproportionately kill woman but Scandinavia actually drowned a high ratio of "wizards" I would recommend starting in a more narrow place of search like spain after the reconquest

I agree to disagree. I admire her greatly but not so convinced everything she says is correct. She speaks of her experience and I appreciate that. If she is an atheist, I wonder why in her tarot she has chosen to include deities?
