Havertz has been unreal since coming to Arsenal and finding his way. If you want to ever ask yourself, "What makes a good manager a great one?". It's a lot of things, but when a coach can take a player like Havertz from the his Chelsea form to his current Arsenal form, you really have to give props to Arteta. He's getting better year-to-year, and his man-management is great. He gets the best from everyone and complete focus and dedication to his game plan. Timber was immense today (although almost everyone really put in a proper shift), as well. He has tons of energy, can read the game well and is very athletic, and I loved his attitude. As a Gooner, seeing him total up for it and throwing down was great. It's really amazing because I've been an Arsenal supporter since 2002 and, wow, as Alice said, I can remember lots of times where we played great football but it wasn't hard to get 3 past us. Now, we are an absolute bulwark unit of a defense and we still play the great football. Good time to be an Arsenal supporter. Trophies are coming...

To me it seemed that Arteta demanded a defend first mentality from everyone, absorb the pressure that they know they can do almost better than any other club, create turnovers and counter when the chance was there. The confidence in their set piece ability is also something they have, and are the best in the league and it was almost inevitable that a goal was coming from a set piece. People are saying they didn’t turn up which shows their football IQ is on the lower side.
@petercorbett3794Ай бұрын
Good aren’t they? Has anyone else noticed how much better Raya is since he got the proper transfer? I think he’s looking more like the goalie Arteta always said he was now. More power to his elbow.

There’s a world where this cluster of injuries to the likes of Merino, Calafiori and Odegaard lead to a minor collapse during an awful stretch of games (Spurs away, Atalanta away, City away) .. but Arsenal with this win have given themselves hope to navigate it relatively unscathed. If we get a draw again City I would be immensely proud of this team.

Credit to their defence but we are so toothless up front. When you compare this front line to the likes of Kane, Defoe, Berbatov, Keane.... etc (Son is fading) they aren't up to the standard needed to implement Ange's philosophy. At least we werent trounced. Which we could well have been with their two missing first teamers. The other difference is were still not good enough at setpieces. Both in attack and defence. Forget going a goal down to them, this Spurs team isnt capable of coming from behind against most if not all teams in the PL. Just go back and look at previous results. With the bulk of the signings made we are dependent on the squad from the previous season. And its going to be a long slog Im afraid.

Yeah you guys will feel gutted cause it's the NLD, but I think there are positives, you controlled the game, we had to defend for our life, it's just your final third which needs improving. I love our derby, not boring like mersey side or Manchester derbies these days. All the best you Spurs
@Dionysus66Ай бұрын
@@Ps_Arnold haha fair enough appreciate it. I have to say though, I didn’t enjoy that game at all entertainment wise. Also you say we controlled it, but I honestly think Arsenal controlled it. You didn’t need possession to control the game, we played exactly into your hands. We weren’t awful but somehow at no point in that game did I feel we would even score. And it was a matter of time before we conceded. I’m not Ange out, we can still improve. We’ve been bad for a while now though

I actually like Solanke, is it fair to say is early days to judge him? He’s only played about 2-3 games with his new teammates. It sucks that his 3rd game of the season is such a big one, but I do think he’ll come good for them. Son and Maddison, have been a let down. It seems as if Son is not making those aggressive runs with the ball anymore. Spurs fans, is it age or low confidence?
@KhaliqueThomasАй бұрын
Gooner here. Solanke needs time to find his own in that squad. They have to stick with him and he’ll pan out in time. Son…. He’s 32, maybe he’s lost a bit of pace, but I don’t think anything is wrong with him. He’s still a creative force on the wing, and maybe he probably needs to move back to into a False 9 role instead of a winger. My thoughts anyway. As a Gooner, I’m glad we caught Spurs NOW while they’re trying to figure out what they are, while we are missing key players in the first 11 and the bench.
